Right Bunnie, you and me are going to make a agreement together. We'll both go to the gym. Right?
The more you put it off, the harder it is to start going in the first place.
My gym opens at 7.15am on Saturdays, but I am looking forward to a lie in, so will be at the gym around 10am. What about you, what time WILL you be there?0 -
Good morning all
HAd a great workout at the gym this morning. I REALLY didn't want to get up at 7.45 on a Saturday morning, but I am so glad I did. I was in the gym by 8.30am and its was dead!
Today I did a few extra reps on each of the weight machines (12 instead of 10) and an extra 5 mins cardio.
I will go again tomorrow, but I need some music to take with me! I know I have an iPod around here somewhere, but I cant find it!
I am going to find some good workout soundtracks on iTunes too.
Just having breakfast: Porridge (made with milk) with a tsp of PB (protein for my muscles) and frozen blueberries. Yummy!
EDIT- Found the iPod! Downloaded some good songs from iTunes so will be taking it with me to the gym tomorrowJust need some new ear phones!

I'm a horrible person! Didn't go to the gym todayMy OH and I have promised each other that we'll go tomorrow. Went to get fitted for running trainers today, as I've had my trainers since uni (6 years ) but they're £75. Going to have to think about it before I buy them.
Well done WantToBeSE! Keep up the hard work!0 -

No, No and NO! Not going to the gym doesn't make you a bad person!
I agree with IK, get them cheaper online.
I am going tomorrow too, so shall we support/nag/motivate (:D) each other through that workout instead? I have nowhere to be tomorrow, so can stay extra long at the gym. I want to do my routine twice instead of once.
So, my plan is :
5min warm up on bike.
Weights (12 reps instead of 10)
20mins treadmill, on an incline of 4 and speed of 5.
15 mins bike, level 3
1600m rowing (approx. 10 mins)
15 mins on cross trainer
Weights again.
So I hope to be able to do that twice....fingers crossed! If I can, I'd like to make Sundays a really intense workout day.
I am taking the kids swimming in the afternoon too, but it wont be ;swimming', more like 'mucking about in the pool and using the slide'0 -
I've just checked and had the GT-1000s and not the GT-2000s. The GT-1000s didn't last long at all.
I was going to suggest looking in the mens section; but I think thye only start at a 7.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Morning all.
Was hoping for a lie in nut my youngest son woke me up at 6.45am!
At least I'll have no excuses not to go to the gym at 8am!
Looking forward to it!0 -
Good luck WantobeSE! You sound very determined!
I don't go to the gym myself, so this morning I have spent about 15 minutes doing squats (with weights) and crunches .Tomorrow I'm going swimming, I'm going to go 15 minutes earlier to do more swimming. My plan is to do 3 hours minimum swimming /week. On mornings I don't go swimming I will do a mini workout at home ,things like squats, pushups and weights. I also do a fair amount of walking which is a part of my life anyway as I don't drive.0 -
Thanks JBD
Your workout sounds great. I always admore the men and women who do free weights at my gym.
My workout today was AWESOME!! I did:
10min warm up on bike (level 3)
1600m rowing (about 8 mins)
Weights
20 mins on treadmill at 5.5 incline, speed 5.5
13mins bike (level 6)
500m rowing
Weights
20mins on treadmill at 5.5 incline, speed 5.5.
It felt GREAT!! I did an extra 2 reps on each of the weight machines again, and a few more on the arm ones as I didn't feel they were worked enough. I can feel it now! In a good way though
Off swimming this afternoon with the kids. While that's not really exercise as such, I don't to actually swim, the physical activity is what I am looking for.
For me, its not about burning calories or fat, and not even necessarily about losing weight (although I welcome that nice side effect), its about much more than that:
-Feeling and being fitter
-Having some 'me time'
-ENDORPHINS!!
-Self-care
-The feeling of accomplishment
-Doing something different and out of my comfort zone.
Love it0 -
Your workout seems hard as well WanttobeSE.
When I say I'm using weights they're only six kgs. That's all I can manage really.
It has kept the bingo wings away though . When I was initially losing weight I was a bit worried about what my body was going to look like , especially as I'm older (54) but it's not bad really and I think it's exercise that has made the difference. I'm one of those people who needs to exercise, I don't think I could stick to just eating less.
I agree about the sense of accomplishment. Feeling good mentally is just as important as feeling good physically.0
