What kind of class did you do? I am going to try fitness pilates on Monday morning. Its aimed at the abs, which is exactly what I need. I hope its not a disaster like my aerobiking (I couldn't finish the class!). We'll see
Bunnie I cant remember if you said before, but do you belong to a gym? I presume you do because you said about the treadmill.
Yes, I just signed up to my local gym over the bank holiday weekend
I did a class called "tone & burn" on Monday evening, which was 45 mins (or 35 if you don't count the warm up/cool down) of bodyweight exercises like planks, sit ups, burpees, press ups, leg raises...it was hard! :embarasse I think they do pilates at my gym which sounds interesting. I might have to give it a go! I've been using the treadmill for running as the weather here has been awful the last few weeks. Also, I'm less self conscious with other people around me working out.
My OH is out tonight, any dinner suggestions for one?0 -
When I am making a dinner for 1, I normally have a stir-fry and then eat the leftovers cold the next day for lunch.
Actually I think I'll have some stir-fry tonight0 -

I was thinking that too! I found this recipe a while ago and have been using it ever since: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/8035/smoky-bacon-pot-noodle-for-one
I've never made it with bacon, but substituted with frozen stir fry veg. I also use asian spices and soy sauce instead of their flavourings. I made it for my OH the other half the other night and he really liked it (put too many chilli flakes in though _pale_). Nigella does a similar recipe but makes it into a noodle soup which is also really good0 -
Tone and burn sounds amazing Bunnie!
My gym tends to just do spinning. And another spin class. And then maybe some spinning. And Zumba, but I don't really like that

I hate spinning with a passion! Went to an "all abilities" class once...nearly killed myself trying to keep up! I should have known it would be bad when my mum told me to wear a pad for cushioning, as the seat can hurt!
I used to go to Zumba with a friend, good workout, but I have no rhythm/co-ordination so was terrible. I just kept going for my friend's sake0 -
Kudos to ANYONE who can do spinning! That's the same as AeroBiking isn't it? I could not make the whole class that I attempted on Monday, I did half of it and thought I was going to vomit!
I am trying Zumba on Friday night I think, or I might just go to the gym instead. Not sure yet!0 -

I can highly recommend pilates. It's brilliant for your abs, which in turn supports your back so gives you better back health. Win win
You will see improvement quickly as well, which is ideal for me as I like instant gratification
I reckon you can all do it, as there's a lady with polio who goes my my classes and whilst there are certain things she can't do due to mobility and muscle problems, she has improved lots and she's really enjoying it. It's not all easy movements, but if you just try your best, that's the main thing.
I've also been doing legs, bums and tums classes and they're tough going. I wasn't build for speed :rotfl: I can see an improvement though, and I'm not puffing as much as I did the first time. It's in a nice group of all abilities with a great instructor, so as much as I don't like getting out of breath I do enjoy it0 -
