The Travel Trust Association are based in Woking at Travel Trust Association, Third Floor, Albion house, Woking, Surrey, GU21 6BD , the telephone number is 01483 545787. They have a consumer conciliation service but you have to put everything in writing. If you want to contact Trading Standards, even though Truly Travel are based in Harrow, the cutbacks means all queries are dealt with by Brent Trading Standards who you can contact by email at trading.standards@brent.gov.uk

I have now reported Teletext Holidays/Truly Travel to BrentTrading Standards.
Thank you.
• I spoke with the Citizens Advice Bureau regarding Teletext Holidays and they advised on how to take proceeding against them, which are now ongoing. However, CAB was so concerned about the case that they forwarded my information direct to my local Trading Standards, who subsequently got in touch with me. They raised two important points that we should all take note of. The first is that TS do not normally get involved with a company as a direct result of a complaint. The preferred method is for the CAB to advise individuals and the CAB then build up a database of "Offending Companies", from which TS will then act. Therefore if you have a problem with Teletext, inform the CAB. The second issue is that most people give up at the first hurdle, ie being fobbed off by Teletext after an initial complaint. Therefore if Teletext deny your claim as their T&C state, for example, you must complain within 28 days and you complained after this (the law gives you 6 years in England and 5 in Scotland), then do not give in.
The more of us who keep going at Teletext and complaining to the CORRECT Authorities about the way Teletext conducts its business, the more Teletext will have to abide by the relevant laws.

The address above(East House, South Worple Way) is their accountants address, they certainly don't operate from there but maybe if their accountants get hundreds of complaints, they might tell them to get their act together?
• Phaseur, my post was not directly related to your post, (I have two posts earlier in the thread) I came on the forum to add an update; however, I do believe too many people are complaining to the Industry Body, I think it is called the Travel Trust Association and this is getting people nowhere, who does everyone think funds this body? With respect to your comments on Trading Standards, their website quotes the following:
Trading standards officers (TSOs) work for local councils advising on consumer law, investigating complaints and, if all else fails, prosecuting traders who break the law.
Therefore, in most cases they are the correct authority to advise you (along with the Citizens Advice Bureau) and if they believe that this is a common offence by Teletext, they will prosecute; the latter though will not get you a refund. I think you are however, a little unfair to the Citizens Advice Bureau and Trading Standards; both of them replied to me within 48 hours and both gave a comprehensive and legally based response with advice on what to do next (I won’t yet say good, I’ll reserve that until the court case). What is slow is the follow on process of writing to the company and then pursuing through the courts, Teletext know this and expect people to give in. As I said TS will collate information and then investigate, I am not sure if the Insolvency Service does this and in any case I do not believe Teletext is insolvent, although I note their Terms of Reference in your post (sometimes though, you like to think the clue is in the name).
However, I think the difference between our approach is that I have spoke with CAB and TS, and I like to think have added some value to the forum by sharing their advice. Whereas I acknowledge what you have said regarding the Insolvency Service, but at present, all you have said is that you have submitted a complaint, as of yet, they have not offered to take on the case or offer you any advice. I will be interested to hear their response, I suspect they will point you to CAB and TS, although I do hope that they will take on Teletext Holidays, if so, please post an update.
Ultimately though, I suspect whoever you speak with, it is the court that will decide and is therefore the authority, which is why I am going that route. My case is slightly different than most I was refunded for this mis-selling of upgrades, they instead cancelled my original accommodation booking a week before I was due to fly and offered a considerably lower standard and cheaper hotel as an alternative and I want to get my money back for the difference.

When the parking issues with private parking enforcement first came to light- cab were less than useless.

Since the they have latched on to the issues.

I believe it's the same with teletext.

AN OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

Remember its old TV pages? Now the Teletext Holidays website is a good place to get inspired. Its homepage lists top cheap picks to get you started. Read more

The site makes you specify a destination and board basis when you search, which makes it tricky if you just want 'anything cheap'.

While the filter and search options aren't advanced as some other sites', it's got a good range of last-minute and exclusive offers to choose from.

Just to let everyone know. This is what mse is saying about teletext.
Has mse been told how teletext are behaving....yes..
