Teletext Holiday Scam.

They used to represent many Travel Companies and I had many good deals.
All Holidays are now booked by Teletext and an Ex Employee was not surprised that I accepted the offer of a room upgrade only to find that all rooms were identical in every way including price and the Manager was furious.
The Call Centre are told to get as much money as they can.
We had one bag for the Hold and was told it was £60 and when I refused to pay this I gradually bargained down to £30.
I will never use them again.0 -
It's transpired there may be some issues now.
First time I rang to query I was left on hold for about ten minutes and forgotten.I had to call back.
I too queried the upgrade that was foisted on the buyer and will be looking closer at what they actually got..
When I myself queried what they were getting for the added price of£87 I was told the equivalent of " you won't get a grotty room in a corner of the hotel".
This is appalling pressure to put on someone at the last second- and they know it.
When pushed she also started to ramble about- " the room will be clean and tidy.." At which point interjected with " well I'd expect that anyway!"
They now say they will get a bigger room and" probably " a sea view. Hmm.
Starts to make booking directly with the hotel look distinctly more attractive in future..
I will suggest my daughter highlights teletexts techniques in her trip adviser review of the hotel and I suggest others do the same0 -
Teletext used to have about 15 companies advertising on their website. From late last year they changed it to one. Truly Travel got the contract so they are the only company advertising on the teletext website.
So basically, it's not really a comparison site now as only one company selling the holidays!

Yes I did but fraudulently taking money did not enter my mind.
They said we could end up in a small room anywhere in the Hotel.
Unfortunately I am a trusting person.
I will never use them again!
This is pretty much the lever they used to get my family member to upgrade.
Not happy. :mad:0 -
As my Partner was recovering from an op I was persuaded to accept the upgrade as we could end up in "A grotty room in a corner of the Hotel"
I thought this was strange that a 4 star Hotel had grotty rooms but was persuaded to accept.
When we got to the Hotel, which was lovely, there was a shower room but no bath. I asked if we could have a room with a bath as we paid £80 for the Bronze Room Upgrade.
The Admin Manager had never heard of a Bronze Room and assured me that all rooms were identical in every way as were the prices.
The Manager contacted the Director of a chain including our Hotel.
He was very angry and advised us to ask Teletext for a refund.
Originally I posted on the Vents Forum and over 5,000 saw it.
I decided to Post also on this Forum as a warning to others.0 -
TELETEXT REP PLEASE CONTACT ME.
We have spend hours on hold on the phone and even today after saying they would investigate And finally being told we will get a call back from a manager . Asking to speak to a supervisor has been fruitless.
would like to speak privately to resolve this.time has run out.
When you are querying possible misselling and the adviser is resorting to google while leaving you on hold for the umpteenth time for half an hour while they read through the so called transcript( which they were already have supposed to have investigated) you know it's not good..
I'd like to believe this is an isolated incident..
We have used you in the past with no problems..0 -
