To all those who have contacted me on PMessages please post on this thread as nearly 9,000 have read this and also the original on Vents.

    It worked for me.
You cannot claim on Credit card as the upgrade is not listed on the invoice.
If we get together this Scam may stop.

As a way of trying to get extra pressure i have also now contacted BBC watchdog, if anyone out there as had the same problem, please send them your story and details. Its quick and easy, if enough of us complain, then it will hopefully get recognised on their programme and assert more pressure on these fraudsters.

As im anew poster on the forums, it wont let me post a link to the watchdoog website. but if you search on your browser for it, it comes up.

As an update to my previous response, after 2 weeks I have still not received any further response from teletext holidays. I had a letter confirming they were looking into my case with regard to this thread but nothing in response to my recorded letter.
I will reluctantly phone them this week and if no luck escalate it as I have promised in the letter.

My advice to anyone pursuing them is to make sure you send a recorded letter within 14 days or you may not be able to complain. Pretty much the same poor customer service I have experienced all the way since booking the holiday, judging from the responses on this site only I imagine they are fairly busy with complaints.
I will also be contacting BBC watchdog.

I have been emailing them on a daily basis to support@teletext.co.uk and have started to get replies and have been promised a call back "shortly". That was received over an hour ago mind. Keep pushing. Ill let you all know any response I get!

    Hi everyone,

I have had a call from citizens advice on behalf of trading standards, and they are going to investigate on my behalf. Unfortunately they cant do a carte blanche investigation without other people contacting them. Their website can be found by searching for citizens advice consumer help line!!
It is quick and easy to complete, and they will pass on all relevant information to trading standards.

On another note, 4 hours have passed from when i was promised a call "shortly" and still no peep!!!

Watchdog is off air at the moment and won't be back until late Autumn. As all holidays are now provided by Truly Travel and their wonderful call centre, I suggest sending complaints to their local Trading Standards Department at trading.standards@brent.gov.uk. Truly is based in Harrow but their trading standards service, such as it is, is now provided by the next door council, Brent.

Thanks for update Dave but this is typical.
Watchdog said a couple of weeks ago they will include in next series if they get more complaints about TELETEXT various scams.
