    Hi guys,

I am having a bit of a nightmare with this company myself. Our accommodation was cancelled and altered on us 3 weeks before travel (June 20th) due to a major bed bank going into administration which happened in March. We were told before we travelled that a full refund would not be possible as i could still use the flights we had booked and was told that it wasn't booked as a package holiday, since doing a bit of research upon return I have found that as i paid for the accommodation and flights at the same time via Barclaycard that it should be considered so.

We were told we had been upgraded and the hotel did have half a star rating more, however we stayed in the exact area where our original hotel was situated, directly on the beach with a host of others we looked at from behind a busy dual carriageway. It wasn't in the same league and we were offered no alternatives either take it or leave it - in fact most of the staff a Teletext were very rude and never even apologised for the inconvenience. I was kindly offered the same hotel if i wanted to add another £4500 to the price of my holiday i had booked several months prior.

Personally i would like to try and claim for the whole thing as i believe we massively overpaid for what we received but keeping in line with the topic i also paid extra for a 'Sea view room' at the original hotel.
I was told beforehand that they would not even refund this cost as it was part of a package! ( I assume they meant part of the accommodation package ). Our replacement hotel had no sea view rooms due to the distance from the beach and i was looking at a block of apartments for locals. Also in light of reading on trip advisor the original hotel apparently has all Sea view rooms so i paid extra for no reason.

I have several more gripes, including the room being made up for 3 people not 4 and the £60 phone bill whilst this company keep you on hold for an eternity on a premium number phone line ( I never received my tickets before travel as printed to say i would, it took me 30mins to phone one of them and for them to tell me to just hand my passports in at the counter, ok thanks for letting me know! ), and i do apologize for the long post but any advice on the best way to proceed would be very much appreciated. i am worried we don't have a leg to stand on now because we agreed disgruntled to travel but i feel that on this occasion we have been severely ripped off!

    Thank you in advance!

Teletext Hoolidays have today put through a refund of £80,:):)
If you have a complaint against any Company, make sure you make as many people aware of the dishonesty that is carried out all the time to boost profits.
A well read Forum such as this is ideal!
My three posts regarding this Scam have been read by over 7,000 people.
My request for a refund was totally ignored until Teletext read all the bad publicity this had caused.
Trading Standards have told me me that at least 90% of people with a valid complaint give up and the Companies know that.
    Do not give up.:D

Have teletext outsourced their sales team call centre? Since the last time I used them they all have foreign accents and are much more pushy and not as transparently honest as they used to be. I got the feeling they were quite pressured to sell and they were at times quite economical with the truth.at one point when the call taker couldn't answer my questions, another person swopped over with them and didn't even introduce themselves. However i did get a good deal as ever.
