Hi guys,
Sorry, one of those days!!
Teletext did call me but only to say I would get an answer by 5, but surprise surprise......Nothing!!
I have now instructed trading standards to escalate the issue.
When I hear more, I'll let you guys know!

I read these posts with interest. I used Teletext for a holiday at Easter, never again. First off I paid for an upgrade, but found no reference on the documentation I was sent, so I challenged Teletext, where they admitted they had made a mistake and refunded the money. Ten days before I travelled, they rang to say their suppliers had gone into administration and my hotel was not available. I was offered an alternative, unfortunately this was the worst one at the resort (Trip Advisor) and I had previously stayed there, it was also £600 cheaper for a family of four then the hotel I had originally booked, but I was only offered a total of £140 back. I ended up paying over £500 extra for an alternative. The problem is what you are buying is a flights plus deal as opposed to a package holiday and there is a difference in your rights. If you understand this when you buy, you do it at your own risk, however what they tell you on the phone and what is in their FAQ is that you are fully protected, you need to scrutinise the T&Cs to determine that you are not. Having found out the true situation, I called them pretending to book another holiday and was assured that I would be fully protected, when I challenged them, they put the phone down on me. I can only advise people not to use this company; there is a high chance that you will end up with not having the hotel you booked and being offered the ones they cannot sell or losing your flight money. They will tell you anything to sell you the holiday and do anything to avoid a refund when they cannot deliver. My experience suggests that they are acting fraudulently and despite three months passing, I will now take it up with the Trading Standards unit posted in this thread. My advice is to avoid them and buy with a reputable company and even then understand what you are buying.0

Sounds typical Teletext Scams.
I have contacted Watchdog and they will put all our Teletext Scams on the next series if they get enough complaints.0 -
The more I hear about teletext, the less I'm surprised.
I agree with aqua. The more people that send messages to watch dog and to the consumer advice line for trading standards, the better.
Many people are lucky if they can even afford one holiday a year, and the fact that these fraudsters know this and try rip off as much money as they can from these people is reprehensible!!0 -
Today i have received a call from the fraudsters telling me they need more time to investigate my claims and that is all they can tell me at this moment in time, but did promise a resolution by 5pm today. this remains to be seen.
When I have more news ill post again.
For anyone suffering in the same situation, please add to this thread and complain to watchdog and the customer advice bureau of Trading standards. Don't let the pressure drop on this company looking to make fast cash on upgrades that don't exist!0 -
Update.
I have just received a call to confirm i will be refunded the amount i have paid for the fraudulent upgrade, and the amount will be in my accouint within 3-4 working days.
message to anyone who has put up with these fraudsters. DO NOT GIVE UP!!
on the call i have also been promised a call from head office to apologise and discuss compensation for the calls i have had to make and the time i have spent.
still keeping the complaint with watchdog and trading standards though because teletext are a crooked bunch of fraudsters!!!0 -
Well done Dave. I did not get an apology or compensation but was amazed to get the £80.
Best advice to anyone Do not use Teletext (Truly Holidays) as they cannot be trusted.0 -
If we put these Scams on Facebook and Twitter even more people will use a reputable Company.0
