At teh moment i do use more than usual because I'm pregnant and things get, shall we say, quite moist down there
I'm having deja vu, is it you I've told before that its not a good idea to fold and re-use? You especially don't want a UTI when you're pregnant!0 -

Could be, as you say it would be strange.skintchick wrote: »I scrunch mine up, wipe, then fold it over on itself and wipe again, and do that a third time. For a wee that's enough, but for a poo I will need to do the same thing again, till I get a clean wipe so I know i'm clean.

Women are more prone to them than men because of the close proximity of all our bits. Women should wipe front to back, using each piece of paper only once. That reduces the risk of spreading around the bacteria that lives down there and introducing things like e.coli into the urethra.
That's the kind of thing mothers should be teaching little girls, not how to put toilet paper down the loo to prevent splashes and sounds!

I'm in the use a lot of loo roll camp
About 3-4 a week when me and hubby are on our own. About 7 a week when our 2 daughters are home.

Essential for this to be second nature for when using public toilets, especially for girlsl :-).

I wouldn't be so bothered about the amount of paper used, as such, but toilet blockages ARE a problem!
We have a toilet that blocks fairly easily. Read an amazing tip on an old thread here, which worked when nothing else had.
Take a few dustbin bags (or large bin bags, or several carrier bags), hold them scrunched up loosely in your hand.
Use this to plunge the toilet. Plungers rarely work as the inside of the bowl isn't a flat surface for them to seal onto. Effectively you're stuffing the narrow bit at the bottom of the bowl full of plastic, then pulling it up / pushing it down rapidly. This creates enough of a vacuum to force the blockage down the pipe.
Just beware of splashback, and have a clean binbag nearby to put the used ones in when done!0 -
When I was at school my biology teacher told us that poo germs can travel through up to 10 layers of toilet paper :eek:0
