Just to add my bit. We go through 5 rolls in a normal week. More if one of the men has got a cold or suffering with hayfever.... or a dose of the trots.:D
Must admit most of the loo roll is used by me. I take mega dosage water tablets and spend the first three hours of my day on the loo. 4 squares of decent quality bog roll each time i wee... ive just checked. As for a number 2 I'm like the Queen... I don't do them.;)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
When I'm in a cubicle I also put a couple of sheets down first not only to prevent splashback with no 2 but to make less noise with no1 or no2.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

If OP is really wanting to save money and not have the loo blocked the child could use a sponge on a stick like the Romans or her hand and a bucket of water like some cultures do.
Nothing wrong with a bit of diversity.0 -

I really hope I'm way off the mark but I do wonder whether OP isn't so much worried about loo roll use but is slightly resentful of boyfriends daughter. Is this a fairly new relationship? Maybe a little more bonding with the little girl is what is needed.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

(Text removed by MSE Forum Team) where has that come from?? Bit of a leap from not wanting to block my loo to resenting my step daughter don't you think?!
FYI I have been with my OH since dsd was 4 months old and we have a fantastic relationship, she has never known it any different.
Until this comment I was actually enjoying reading this thread.....in a weird kind of way :rotfl:0 -

I'd forgotten about the noise reduction benefits! Me thinks the argument has been won :-).

An over reaction, why not just say 'not at all, I love her to bits'.
Sorry to offend but it does seem petty and strange that you or her dad don't feel you can deal with a five year old using a lot of loo roll. Just talk to her and show her how much to use and tell her how to do it. Offer to help. How long has she been wiping herself? Maybe she'd still like some help.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -

I did, and I also explained that she is quite shy and gets easily embarrassed about 'personal' things.
I wouldn't say it was an over reaction.....I would say it was a very strange thought that I could resent her because she's heavy handed with loo roll. I have read the whole thread again and still can't fathom where you got that idea from.0
