Diarrhea-typified IBS. I'm not risking getting any of that on my hands.

Yes, for those unfortunate enough to suffer from this I wouldn't dream of criticising, or even commenting on, above-average usage. I assume the majority of posters, however, are lucky enough not to be in this situation on a day-to-day basis.
  • Those on the "less is more" side of this will no doubt shoot me down for this one, but I taught my children to put a couple of bits of loo roll down first when going for a poo, to prevent any splashes of toilet water on their bottoms. Essential for this to be second nature for when using public toilets, especially for girlsl :-).

"Toilet water" is drinking water in the vast majority of places. Anyway, what would it matter if a bit of water splashes your children's bottoms? Touching the door handle on the way out will do them more harm.

I use quite a bit, although if I'm not bathing immediately afterwards (which is most usual), then I use some paper, then a wipe, then dry with more paper. I do have a drain problem, so I sometimes keep a bucket next to the bath and when I've washed my hands and had my bath, take several buckets of bath water and fling that down the toilet bowl. Hopefully the pressure of that dislodges anything that could be catching down the line in the drain.

Don't use wipes if you have drain problems! (In fact, don't use wipes even if you don't have drain problems else you soon will!).

Two sheets for a number two? Its not meant to be literal! Hope never to close to someone who uses only two sheets

I think your definition of essential may be somewhat different to mine. I've never heard of anybody contracting any virulent diseases from 'toilet water' splashes, and why on earth would it be more important for girls? Do they do heavier !!!!!! or something? Or are you winding us up a bit? ;)

Touching the door handle on the way out won't do them any harm either. :D

I'd hazard a guess that she meant it was 'more important for girls' because girls have to sit down wereas men can stand up to pee. Although, I never sit down on public toilets, it's more of a hover! :rotfl:

Also, regarding the two sheets for a number 2, I can't believe it either, I wouldn't have thought it was possible! I have no reason to doubt anyone, and I believe what you say is true, but....

It'd have to be a pretty powerful pee to create dangerous levels of splashback, what are these girls drinking?

Don't hover, its not good for you, you don't empty your bladder fully and it can contribute to infections, incontinence and even prolapse.

Maybe she means having a pee and a poo at the same time....that can create some serious splash back sometimes!

I did actually read that somewhere. I hadn't realised that before, so I try not to do it too often, just in public toilets.

ETA: Just re-read your post, incontinence? Prolapse? Will be mindful of that from now on.
