How can I ration toilet roll??

If you are worried about blockages, teach her to flush mid wipe as well as at the end. I use about half a roll a day. I have no idea how a couple could use 4 a month and still be clean.
Exactly. People are being ridiculous IMO. No way do people use that little. As if a couple would only use one toilet roll a WEEK between them.
And using two little sheets for a poo?!!! How stupid do they think people are that they would believe that?! Nobody could do that.(•_•)

We get through about a roll a week each, and we're mostly out at work during the week."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

I don't know what toilet roll you use, but no WAY is two little sheets of loo roll enough. I have never had any toilet roll EVER, in my LIFE, where I have been able to use only one or two of the little sheets. For a wee OR a poo.
I think people are taking the p1ss. :rotfl:
I said two or three and I am sure of that as this thread has made me notice what I use. If not enough then a second two or three is needed but only for the obvious need.Exactly. I'm not being ridiculous. I could say how stupid are those who think they need to use so many pieces that they use what I would call excessive especially when out at work!!Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Still can't fathom how anyone can use that little, and still be clean. I just struggle to believe it.
Can't add anything else to it really.(•_•)

All I will say is things differ to the amount of cleaning needed dependent on diet.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

The people using lots more than 2/3 sheets; are you using a big bunch all at once (in which case most of the sheets will just be in your hand and not touch the area being cleaned, thus unnecessary) or wiping, then getting more and wiping again (and again, and again?). I'd think it was unusual to have that much 'mess' to clean up on a normal day!
I think I'll keep a log (no pun intended) on my whiteboard for the next week. I'll do a column for both of us, and tally up in 7 days!0 -
I use quite a bit, although if I'm not bathing immediately afterwards (which is most usual), then I use some paper, then a wipe, then dry with more paper. I do have a drain problem, so I sometimes keep a bucket next to the bath and when I've washed my hands and had my bath, take several buckets of bath water and fling that down the toilet bowl. Hopefully the pressure of that dislodges anything that could be catching down the line in the drain.
Also, I never use 3-ply because of the drain blocking thing, so I think the OP should have a gentle word with the little girl (or dad preferably), but also buy 2-ply paper for her visits, and whenever she passes the bathroom, just go in an give an extra "unnecessary" flush - I sometimes do a mid-flush, but I think a little girl might struggle to turn around and reach a push button flush.0 -

Diarrhea-typified IBS. I'm not risking getting any of that on my hands."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -
Usage can vary enormously, depending on the consistency of what comes out, and frequency!
This thread takes me back to my childhood, post war shortages and very little money etc.
A sheet of Bronco, harsh stuff, backed by a quarter sheet of Radio Times.
Thank goodness for softer stuff today, but I guess I'm still fairly economic in usage, though if I need more than 6-8 sheets I use more.
The OP's child is only 5, and needs a bit of training. My grandson thought one wipe was enough, so was provided with wet wipes, to improve his cleanliness. Didn't take long to learn.0 -
