I'm sure I'm not the only person sitting here absolutely  at the thought of a couple using a whole roll a day! If the roll has 250 sheets, even 5 people would be using 50 sheets a day to get through that lot :eek: do people *really* use 50 sheets of loo roll a day???

I'm with Torry Quine on this one, I have no idea how anyone could use a roll a day! I live on my own and seriously notice the difference in usage if people come to stay (and yes, it can get almost obsessive! My brain sort of goes "if one person uses one roll in say 12 days [for calculation purposes - I actually use 1 roll in maybe 20-25 days!] surely 4 people would use a roll every 3 days - let's allow for a bit of excess usage and say one every 2 days - so how come 4 people have got through 2 rolls in 2 days so far?")
so I can totally understand why the OP would notice & be somewhat disturbed by how much more is used when the girl comes to stay!

Same here. It's easily manageable if you put your mind to it.

I am amazed some people only use 4 loo rolls per MONTH

Must be very wasteful in my house, I buy loads! I went shopping last Thursday, bought a 9 pack, there were already a few left upstairs and they had all gone by Sunday :o I had to buy more, there are four of us live here, one male and 3 females

I'm amazed at the 4 rolls a month usage too, but even more amazed that 4 adults went through 9+ rolls in only 3 days!

Without sounding like a toilet roll anorak a decent roll (andrex, waitrose or sains own brand) had 240 sheets. A quilted roll or the nicky ones that everyone seems fond of had 165 ish sheets. Between 2 people that's between 11 sheets and 17 sheets a day each.

11 sheets isn't much for a poop and a few wees over a day!

yep, that sounds pretty normal for a week for 2 people in a household I'd say. Most of the week theres only me and DD in our house, but I think my DD eats toilet roll, because we always use more than one roll per week .

I scrunched up some now and realised there were 9 sheets there (I was actually trying to be good and not take tonnes!). I also scrunched some to wipe the seat first.

Surely if you just took 2-4 sheets and folded it and used after a wee, you'd just get wet fingers!!! Sorry if too much info lol. I don't want it coming through the tissue even if I am washing my hands after!

I I use about another 3 after that just to make sure there's nothing still wet(!), then two if I realise I took an odd number the time before. Will find something to use it for, even if just blowing my nose!

    Haha what a strange thread.

What an eye opening thread! Honestly I use on average 6-7 squares per day. Obviously I use more at certain monthly times. The other occupants of the house are both adult males. Between us one roll lasts about 10 days. Two of us work only part-time jobs where toilets are not available and the other is unemployed and at home all day so I suppose we all do our "business" at home. I was always taught the rule: One square for a wee, Two for a poo, if you need more God bless you!

when my children were at school in reception year parents were asked to teach our children how much toilet roll they should be using. At that age most things need to be taught, and children are receptive and want to do what's right.

That's what I did, explained/showed how much was need for a wee/poo. Perfectly normal part of teaching a kid how to go about the world!

Thank goodness for a sane reply.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
