I didn't want to say this but i bought her a shiny blue rabbit before as a joke and it went down like a lead balloon :(

I'm not surprised! :D I have three sons who do buy me "joke" presents and I like to think I'm not a prude but that would be a joke too far!

If she isn't anti-leather and just doesn't like all-leather bags then Orla Kiely ones are very good.

Amazon have many of the current season ones and you could order with next day delivery to get it in time. The linear stem handbag in stone is neutral, versatile and holds a lot. You could pop a kindle paperwhite inside too!

If she like hiking then how about a hydration pack?

Now that is something i like. I could use that for when i'm cycling :money:

She is anti leather. Can someone here who thinks they might be similar to my mum pick a bag you would like and i'll just buy that 1 for her. Then i can blame someone if she hates it :rotfl:

I already have a hydration pack but it is C rap compared to that one, I'm going to treat myself to it :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
She wont use leather i know that for sure but a bag is a bit better than a candle. What is a decent brand of bag in the £250 price range?

Things like handbags are really a matter of personal taste so I'd steer clear unless you absolutely know her style.

How about just taking her out for half a day... arrange a day between you and then tell her it's her choice for venue. Just enjoy the time together and have a great meal. If she sees something she likes along the way then treat her to it.

The gesture and making time for her will mean more than any expensive pressie... and you'll have the memory forever.

I lost my mum suddenly a couple of year ago... I would like the 'problem' you have but, sadly for her, there are no more birthdays to buy for.

So, just see it as an opportunity to have fun.... even if it's a day hiking and a pub meal... the time together is priceless.

That's a huge amount to spend on one person so there must be something she would like.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I'm a mum and i'd love vouchers for a local beauty or hairdressing salon so i could pamper myself when i felt i needed it, most women have their eyebrows shaped, legs waxed, manicures, pedicures, facials etc x

I'm sorry to hear of your loss :(

The idea is nice but my dad usually takes her out for a meal on her birthday. On that 1 he has beat me to it and it would look like i'm copying his ideas.
