I spoke to her about my finances when she was saying she wanted more money. I asked her to allow me to continue paying what I do now until I sort myself out. Then we can sort something out. Personally I don't think I should have to pay more. I see her much less and it costs me 180 extra to do so. But that's another story. I will pay whatever I have to pay so I can see my girl :)

I'm going to be looking at paying some extra bits of here and there. Looking to make some money via eBay and other methods. But for now, it's bed time!

So glad I've done this diary. Feel like your all in it with me and it's really driven me to succeed. Thank you all

Hi Dan. Well done on starting managing your debts. First step is always most difficult. Did you explained why she needs more money all suddenly. I agree with you I dont see why should you be paying more.

Morning all. No she hasn't explained why she want's the increase in money, but I'm told she and her partner are buying a house and moving out of rented accommodation. I'm guessing my money would go towards that funding that!
  • I'm really impressed with your attitude to debt clearing. Re your daughter, can you negotiate half terms, school holidays etc to maximise the return on petrol costs? I do feel for you, you've a tough few years ahead but it's doable and, before you know it, your daughter will be able to make part of the journey by public transport etc. when they are that age, time really does fly.

Thanks in need of direction. Appreciate your words. Yes holidays etc I've got her longer. I've got her tomorrow till Thursday this week for example.

I've got to take this approach to clearing my debts really. It was either this or carry on struggling and being in denial about it all. Face it head on and it can be done!

Ok so I've had a good day today. I've been out and ran 4.5 miles, which always helps me clear my head and think straight. I've also counted up change I've got. Total so far is £47.30. Very impressed with myself. I'm going to list a load of stuff on eBay over the weekend also and try build up some paypal money. If I can get £100 it's going straight on a payday loan! It's been a good day!

    • Just read your diary, you're doing a fantastic job of tackling this head on. Good Luck. You can look forward forward to the future when you can spend quality time with your daughter without the worry of debt constantly there.

Like you said, payday loans can spiral so quickly - it would be great if you could delay increasing the maintenance payments for just a few months so that you can get a big chunk of this debt paid off - is that an option?

You're right - face things head on and they can be done! :)

Thank you! :) She's allowing me to clear my debts before wanting to increase the payments. I've got to give her credit for this. Techincally she's entitled to around £340 a month. I've been giving her £220 a month. But this was when she lived near me and I'd have DD 4 times a week. I really don't think it's fair that now she's moved 300 miles away and I've gone from seeing her 4 days a week to Saturday and Sunday every other weekend I have to not only pay her £340 but spend and extra £180 on petrol. I like to think I'm a good day who would do anything for my little girl. But this is just me. Her mum wants what the 'system' say's she deserves. The 'system' doesn't take into consideration my personal life and my relationship with my daughter. It tars every father with the same brush. Nothing I can do about that though so I have to keep on smiling and not let my little princess see her Daddy down about it!

      Really off topic! haha :)

My loan totals in the previous post are wrong! They were the original totals. I've made a few payments already to Wonga, QQ, P2P, Peachy and Sunny.

My Sunny loan is the lowest. £211 left to pay. It's £107 in June and £104 in July. If I can get my change up to £107 that's this loan finished and an extra £107 for another in July.

      Wonga - £1072.22
      QuickQuid - £1527.04
      P2P - £1094.13
      PaydayUK - £649
Peachy - £211.15 - Target to be cleared in June
      Sunny - £739.65
      Lending Stream - £1340
      Satsuma Loans - £503.88
      Piggy Bank - £618.16
      Mum and Dad - £760
