Updated my signature with my month food shop from sains, being delivered any minute now. So that's food for August, still have some chicken breast's left from July so don't need to go buy any.
Only food left to buy is cereal and milk for the month and I'm done!GC July: £0/£1200 -
My challenge is to stay the same or a bit less than last year, I have a lot in cupboards and freezers so plan a good use up this month and spend as little as possible.Slimming World at target0

Hello everyone! I'm in for August for £93. This remains at £1pppd. I was considering raising this amount as it's the hols and we're all home, but I'm keeping it at this challenging target. The children will be with their dad for about 12 days throughout the month, which is why I feel I can keep it this low. It should allow me to make some nice treaty picnicky things for when we're out and about.
Hey, if I shoot for the stars, I may hit the moon!
Have a great weekend!

Sign me up for £300 please - this is for two adults, one child and two cats. We currently spend approximately £315 a month and I think we can do a little better by using up some items which have been in our cupboards and freezer for longer than I'd care to admit (but still safe to eat thankfully!)0

Only 10 days into my budget and £37 down. I think this is going to be tough, but to be fair it is my first month.
The off in the sun next Thursday for £5 off when you spend £10 on meat in morrisons should help me make a few cheap meal thanks :-)0 -
Well so much for the plan to use up but you have to go with a bargain/
Got an incredible haul in Asda reductions, only wanted a bit of veg and wanted to try almond breeze milk someone from slimming world told me about, no fat no sugar and only 29 calories for 200ml, so I think counts as free. but I found 400grm packs of Smoked haddock Monkfish and cold loin usually £5.00 a pack all at 50p, prime beef ribeye steak usually 8.00 for 1.oo. Loads of veg packs at 10p. My total came to 12,00 but the proper price would have been an huge 58.70.
I wont call it savings as wouldn't buy at the prices anyway 17.00 a kg for rib eye
There were loads of ready meals for 20p but I don't eat them and felt a bit sad that I didn't know anyone to get them for, it was just 15mins to closing so I think what was left would just be binned.Slimming World at target0 -
First spends of the month on Friday. Had 2 of the Aldi vouchers to spend and thought it was a good idea to do 2 shops in the same trolley - separated by a sheet of cardboard. I had 2 lists as close to £45 as possible and stuck to it fairly well - with a few little extras. What a nightmare, I couldn't even fit it all on the conveyor!
I did stock up on everything non-perishable like loo roll, dental stuff, meat and bread for the freezer. cat food, etc. and bought almost all the voucher things too! My large chest freezer is now bursting at the seams and £92.68/£192 spent.
I should be ok for everything but fruit and salad veg and my month is only til the 18th due to holiday.
OH spent £2.75 on cat litter today but had a nsd yesterday.
Ideas time please! We are camping for 5 nights over this weekend with nothing but a cool box (albeit we can plug it in to the hook up, hopefully). I need some ideas of thing to cook on a 2 ring burner with ingredients that we can avoid keeping in the cool box if possible. So far I have:
Tuna pasta (with tomatoes and peppers)
Corned beef hash
Pearl barley 'risotto' (or any grain!) with veg
Any ideas welcome, I have a fairly well stocked cupboard so anything goes! :T
Thanks,

If you take a toaster, you can have beans on toast! With spices etc to make it more interesting. Also, if you have the mattesons sausage that doesn't need refrigerating, and goes well with pasta, sauce and tinned sweet corn. What about the pasta and sauce packs? Tinned spuds with corned beef/tinned sausages and beans? Ooh, tinned chicken in white sauce with rice and sweetcorn. That's all that comes to mind straight away!

Good morning folks, I gave fell off the bandwagon completely and need to focus on using up what we have so I can then do a mega shop at the start of September to stock the cupboards afresh for winter. I am back into the old routine of repetitive buying every week the same and a wee bit gets thrown out compared to before. I will start my august budget today until 28th august and will aim for 250 giving an average of £60 per week which should be ample. I am going back to using cash as switching things is so easy. This will cover everything, including cleaning products etc. Fingers crossed!Every days a School day!0

Pleased to report that we are still under budget after a very frugal July, mostly using garden produce. I had not appreciated the cost of fresh fruit and veg until we were away. Must plant more winter stuff when the onions are harvested. Sig now updated and spent less than two thirds of July budget, despite a mega stock up in Asbos for brand groceries and toiletries. Good luck in August everyone
