    Morning all :)

Ended up spending £2.55 in the local corner shop in milk and chocolate. going to need more milk today, and bread for tomorrow, but it's raining all day apparently so might have to pop to corner shop again :(

Not the best start to the week lol

  • Since 20th no cash spent on food...but have used my free Sainsbugs free gift cards to "buy" £14.78 of food...stocked up on tea, rice and Flora marge...treated myself to a bottle of Kronenbourg and a choccie bar...Also got an aubergine and good quality cottage cheese to make a moussaka which I had last night for tea...enough for 4 meals in total. I make a veggie one using green lentils instead of mince.
    GC - Oct £36.17/£31
    GC - Sep £35.56/£30:o
    GC - Aug £30.73/£31
    GC - Jul £30.80/£31
  • Just updated my grocery spend for August & I have overspent by more than double my budget :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Apart from being horrified as my cupboards/fridge/freezer are nearly empty, I realise now that my budget was way too low for my first attempt at grocery challenge. So next month's will be slightly higher.

Also I think I spend more by shopping online with Sains***** as I have to spend £40 to get free delivery (12mths delivery for £20 earlier in the year).

This challenge has been brill in showing me how much the little pop into the shop spends do add up.

Will continue to add to total till pay day on Thursday then will do a whole review on grocery shopping so that I am within target next month.

As for August 2014 will mark it down as a complete FAILURE.

Declaring for August at £49, £1.00 under last year so pleased with that.
Morrisons vouchers have helped enormously this month.

Will struggle a bit for September as last years was only £40, think this was due to being away for a couple of weeks. but only really need fruit and veg as loads of meat still in

Looking back over my Diary I think the biggest saving I shall make is in December .last years was huge. This year I am have already stocked up
the Christmas meats and several other bits .

Don't call it a failure - it worked didn't it !! You can now go forward and tackle your spends as you want and need and you'll have some insight into your spending. Good Luck - and don't beat yourself up too much - Rome wasn't built in a day. Some of us have had to be skinflints frugalites for years :rotfl:

Had another NSD today and only 6 days to go on budget.

Hope you all have a super Tuesday

Good morning, an overspend of £12 this month for me, but not an overspend iyswim because I have £12,40 worth of Asda APGs in my bag and £17 odd online, so in effect Iv come in under budget due to my glut of APGs which Im going to put towards next month budget for any asda bulk buys. Popping off to September now and declaring £212 spend for August.
