Eeeek, got £53 for the rest of the month. I've signed up for Mr T home delivery for £3 a month, so have to spend £25 a week. Had a £1.14 voucher to use, so planned next week's shopping and managed to get it around £25.50. If I find we need something that's not on the list, there are a few things on there that we'd like but don't need so will be able to change things around. I'm determined to stick to our budget!!!

  • Hi could I join please? I used to be on here a while back but haven't been on the site really until recently. We're really tight on money at the moment with only £46 left after bills and shopping so really need to keep the budget down. I've allowed £150 per week but this is for diesel and petrol as well as grocery shopping. This will be an average amount as well as we do a Home Bargains shop every month so that week will be much higher. Also my car only get petrol every few weeks so there will be some weeks where I am a long way under but equally some weeks where I can be £100 over my budget.

    Average weekly budget: £150

We are currently at £139.75 per week
    Clean credit file:12 mths
    Car loan: FREE! :j
    THE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy :D

Hi all, I spent another $8.20 today on soybeans and gluten flour.

The soybeans should make 6-7 1-litre batches of soy milk, which would last me until halfway through September. So it was an overbuy for this grocery challenge....but I wanted to see how much it would cost to fill up the container I use at the bulk bin shop, the one that is similar in volume to the old glass coffee jars in my food cupboard. Now I know that if I take that container, and fill it up to the brim, I will be able to make enough soy milk to cover the whole month for ~$6. And filling up the gluten flour jar will costs ~$3 and last 3 months.

Think that's my last shop for August, fingers crossed.

Spent £53.79 in Aldi, which should last us till the end of the month, with a small top up of fresh stuff, a few quid on other bits and bobs, which is added on sig and then off to use my morrisons meat voucher later, I'm hoping to come in under budget, but not as much as I'd hoped.

I'm another that's not been around for ages.
I've really let things slide with my finances since I got a new job about 3 years ago, after I'd been struggling for a few years on a very limited income and part time work.
Had a look at my finances today and I'm spending far too much.
I'm mortified to see roughly how much I spend on food, especially as I'm single so there's only me to feed.

Anyway, for the rest of this month I'm going to go through my credit card statement and receipts so I can see how much I'm spending.
I'm also trying to use up what's in the fridge and freezer for the next week or so, but will have to buy a few bits.
Sorted out the veggie drawer and it uncovered some wilted celery that I'll make soup tomorrow, lots of potatoes so shouldn't need to buy any for a few weeks and a lettuce that had to be binned. I throw loads of salad away, so I'm going to concentrate more on root veg etc now, especially as summer is nearly over.

£5.64 spent in tesco yesterday on a few bits. We had nanny and grandad over for lunch so needed milk, ham and a pudding ;);)
Also, picked up some value yoghurts for hubby as they are cheaper than aldi and he doesn't care! And the newspaper for the voucher obviously!
Was going to do my weekly shop today but decided to leave it until tomorrow to make today a NSD!
