    Hello everyone,

  • After gym & swim this morning nipped into B&M to check-out Kilner jars they had for 1.99...didn't buy any but had a good look round. I've not bought food there before but there were enough bargains to make me go back when I have some shopping to do. They had 4 tins tuna for 2.99 and Ryvitas for 79p. I did, however buy 2 big jars of passata for 50p for the two at the market...they're a bit over sell buy date (Jun 2014) but the jars were in perfect conditions so there's no reason to worry about condition.

Went out to do a top up shop but was far more than I expected or usually spend:mad:.

Spent a total of £30.18 spread between Mr T, Icel*nd & farm shop. Total spend to date is £148.39/£250.00. Should hopefully still come in under budget as only 2 weeks to go until pay day but would really like to get through until the end of the month on this money till we go on holiday.

Spent £3.14 in lidl on margarine, salad cream, raisins and rolls.
Also raided the veggie patch at mums and got some onions, peas and French beans. The French beans will last us months! There were loads and we only planted 5 plants!!!! They have all been blanched and put in the freezer. Left some out and we are going to have roast pork loin tomorrow with potatoes, French beans, LO parsnips and carrots from Sunday! Yum!

My new automatic soy milk maker came, and I've made my first batch with no problems.

I spent $8.50 today on carrots, cauliflower, and onions. My freezer is so full, I even had to lacto-ferment some cut-up pumpkin because there was just no more room in there. I will be fermenting today's cauli with carrots and onions too.

I plan to spend the rest of August eating out of the freezer, so not much more shopping to do. I'll have to get some more soybeans to make soy milk, but that's all.
  • I'm currently at £61.56, we're off on holiday this weekend for a week so won't be spending on GC (holiday eats are half board and lunches will be paid for out of holiday budget)
I do need to pop to the shop later for some cat food for my mate to feed the cat while we're away, and some bits and pieces for a packed lunch for the journey at the weekend. I'm hoping for an underspend this month, and any underspend will go in my sealed pot :)
Feeling so much better about money this month, just being back on the GC and the boards in general helps. So a big thanks to everyone who posts and in doing so keeps me on track!
