Hi all,
Just popped in to say I have had to opt out of Aug GC - wedding in 2 weeks, so budget is all over the place - trying to be good, have got some bargins in YS meat, so freezer is full, but any extra is going to the wedding fund..... Got a bonus with OH,s suit, reserved it at M&S through the week as best man couldn,t go in till yesterday, on Thursday got sent 20% off voucher, so between the 2 saved over £130 quid that included everything plus 2 additional ties for my son,s.
I will be well and truely back on the wagon for Sept and I go part time at work, to help look after MIL - scary loosing a f/t wage, but as long as we,re careful we should be okay - will be hauting these boards to look for money saving ideasNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

We got back from our week-long holiday last night.I had been wondering how to count the grocery budget while we were away.I have decided to count groceries bought while we away in the "holiday budget",not the grocery budget I use for this challenge (because,to be fair to him,my OH pays for most expenses while we are away,so my household budget stays intact).
Having spent the weeks before our holiday running down food supplies,I needed to shop today.I have always shopped at Tesco, but over the last few weeks I am starting to really look at how much I get for my money, and think "Is that all??"
So I tried out my local ALDI (£50.80),and nipped into the Iceland next door for a few bits (£4.00).I didn't need meat because I had stocked up when Morries had £5 off earlier this month.Over the next few days should only have to buy milk.
So,this (unusual budget-wise) month,I have spent £95.19/300:TSPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Another NSD day, but I will be going to a restaurant supply store in the next couple of days to stock up on bulk items (20kg bread flour etc) so I expect the budget will take a huge hit. I tend to do a bulk buy every three months and use the accumulated budget savings to pay for it. Probably not the cheapest way of shopping as I tend to fully partake in the specials they offer, but it does mean lovely full pantry shelves!0

Spent €5 on washing powder today.Hadnt intended spending any money for a while but Aldi have a €10 voucher off €50 spend in todays paper, so will be doing that during the week, which will more or less wipe out the August budget hopefully will get some extra stuff at low prices.
