Adding £10 on, Morries for meat, cereal, milk and butter.

Not including the £15+ the Hubby decided we needed to spend on 'snack/junk' food, I refuse to have that come out our food budget when I tell him countless times we don't need that. I have to stop letting him get the 'top-up' shops alone

Do you count pet food in your "grocery" challenge?

Yes, since I don't own a dog, but I sometimes buy dog biscuits for myself (they are traditional Czech ones with removed sugar, just branded as dog biscuits). They are similar to lady fingers btw :).

That being said, I remember our grammar-school chemistry teacher was buying Vitamin C in larger volumes at the pet store, since it was about 10 times cheaper than in market. (But he knew what he was buying :-D).

Anyway, I wish to sign for August - CZK1300 (about 40 pounds). But I wish I won't stick with homemade pizza and pasta all the time. Can make 2 medium/large Pizza Margarita for 1 pound :-D (everything fresh). :-D

I often see in the butcher-section clerks with rolled eyes when I want only 2-4 thin slices of ham (high-quality for pizza, about 50g).

Hi, everyone. I count cat food in my grocery total, just because I buy her food from the supermarket. My cat doesn't cost much to feed, really, as she weighs in at just 2.2kg and only eats senior dry food, taking six weeks to eat a 1.5kg bag. And that includes the "just sharing" by the ginger Manx across the road if I forget and leave the back door open... :rotfl:

I've just finished my first shop. I bought enough wholemeal flour, peanut butter, barley, chicken stock powder, and pasta for the month, plus laundry powder and cat food ($26.20). I got some channa flour and popping corn from the bulk bin shop ($2.50)but didn't quite get enough corn for a month with 5 Saturday evenings in it. I got 3 boxes soy drink ($7.50), not the whole months worth because it takes up too much cupboard space.

So I have $28.80 left, but I know I will be spending another $10 on more soy drink in the weeks to come.

Completed first food shop of the month yesterday and it came in at £22.77. The cupboards were bare and we needed some stuff to tide us over till Saturday night when we're going to sty with our parents. Would have been a lot less had OH not picked up a ridiculous pizza for his tea (£3.98!) Oh well that still takes us under the £50 a week limit I set us so I can't moan too much!

Just started on the august thread. It was a bit lonely on the July thread for the last week!
Spent £16.50 in morrisons yesterday on meat and cereal bars- should have been £26.50 but had two vouchers!
I am putting it on my august budget as I would have gone today but we are off on a camping weekend today and I didn't want to miss using the vouchers!

    Good morning everyone :)

I'm afraid I have been AWOL for quite a while but now want to get control over my spending so here I am again :)

I am aiming for £150 a month. That's for me and the OH and includes cleaning stuff, toiletries and the occasional treat and bottle of wine. Not that frugal but now the kids are grown and moved out an occasional treat won't break the bank.

I do my shopping with Mr T once a week click and collect. It doesn't cost any extra and OH collects it on his way home from work. Also it means I can go through and delete any weaknesses and over spends before I pay.

    Have a good month everyone

    Cuddles :)
