  • Hello everyone did you all miss me??

I fell off my MS wagon and lost the trail but now since I have found myself in a bit of a financial conundrum I tracked you all down and am hopping back on board.

So starting afresh from 4th Aug to the 31st I will set my budget at £400 and get my stocktake done again along with my meal planning.

I include pet food - as my rules are anything purchased from a supermarket. But others do things differently.

It's about what works for you - do you think you need to watch/reduce that spend too?

My month starts tomorrow! I've already bought the Sun today for the Morries voucher. I have other vouchers that came in a flyer that are good until the 3rd I believe, so am hoping to combine! Fingers crossed staff accept both.

A good shop this week of £44.19 although that did include £10 of fish from Morries so once I've taken off the £5 off £10 voucher from the Sun and the £5 Morrisons Miles voucher I actually spent £34.19. Total spend so far £61.33/£250.

I've just signed up for Mr T's delivery saver. The £3 a month one. I spend more than £3 in petrol getting there and back, and hoping that I won't be tempted by things I don't need by doing it this way!

We REALLY need to be frugal for a few months, as we've had so much expenditure recently and we need to build up our savings again.

I've cancelled our fortnightly fruit and veg box, as we have some of our homegrown produce to use for the next few months which will help save money.

Please could you put us down for £350 for august.
That covers the 3 of us, dog food and includes toiletries as well.

Our freezer stocks are running low, but I will be raiding the local co-op for any YS reduced food to re-fill freezer.
I am also doing my main shop in Morrisons each week to get the vouchers for the £15 bonus and I'm trying to get hold of a copy of the Sun for the meat voucher too.

Do you count pet food in your "grocery" challenge?

I am - I'm including all general household stuff too, like bin bags, toothpaste and cleaning products. If I didn't my target would probably be half what it is!

Can I be put down for £250 please. This is for 2 adults and also includes cat food and household/cleaning/toiletries - basically anything we buy from the supermarket. This is to run from 1st - 31st August.

I'd like to get us down to below £200 eventually, but I'll try and ease us in slowly!
