i dislike people that give false information ( even when corrected) and so confuse the people that need information.
they are very often, in a high state of stress or they wouldnt need benefit advice.
no one gets it right all the time.
the difference being, that most of us acknowledge our mistakes

It's actually £102 per week after certain deductions. (I have a feeling you've just made a typo and do know what you're talking about)
im not too familiar with the new benefit rates yet, so was just 'averaging'
but now i know the amount ;)
    thanks!

your income support and carers allowance should have been seperate payments?
for last year, the IS amount without a varers premium would have been around £24 a fortnight.
with the carers premium it would have been around £90ish a fortnight

My advice was 100% spot on. CA and IS CANNOT be paid together, you will only get the higher benefit, in this case IS, you will NOT get a penny out of CA, save for CP which you will get added on top of IS. This is a fact.

No it's not. There are people on here who claim both benefits.

    no, it is FICYION.
carers allowance will be PAID IN FULL.
then by a seperate payment, the claimant will receive an Income Support top up and a carers premium.
there are people commenting in this thread that receive this combination of benefits.
are the DWP wrong too for paying them?

I'm afraid you are completely wrong. Only the higher paying benefit will be paid.

Continuing my tradition of giving honest and accurate advice here is a link to an official government website:

    http://www.nhs.uk/CarersDirect/moneyandlegal/carersbenefits/Pages/CarersAllowance.aspx

Now read this CAREFULLY in BOLD:
Carer's Allowance is an "earnings replacement benefit". You can't normally get more than one earnings replacement benefit at the same time, as they are said to "overlap".

If you're entitled to more than one of these benefits, a benefit based on NI contributions will be paid in preference to one that does not depend on contributions. If you're entitled to two benefits, you will be paid the benefit that pays the higher amount.

Hence if you get IS, you will NOT get ANY money for CA. This is because IS is higher paying benefit.

Now I've pasted the link from an official site, if you wish to contradict what I just said please DO NOT respond by making baseless comments, come up with something concrete from an official rule, otherwise just thank me.

It does not matter who gets what here. You cannot under any circumstances get PAID in form of MONEY for both CA and IS. It's how it is. If anyone here gets paid for both they are getting paid incorrectly I'm afraid.
