Did everyone have to send back in a signed acceptance form and sample signature sheet?

Also, is the internet banking just a clone of the First Direct interface?

Have been accepted and would consider keeping it with the £100 free overdraft but hated the FD interface and overseas call centres on the rare occasion that I do have to call.

    Yes and Yes.

Not sure about overseas call centre - when I called them they sounded like native Brits.

I thought FD had UK call centres only.

I've usually talked to native Brits, but there is an overseas call centre - I was put through to it once, and after much misunderstanding they then put me through to someone in the UK. Think the UK person I talked to said it was Manila but not 100% sure of that.

My Mum got her gift card yesterday.

Less than 30 days after opening the account.

She opened a Halifax Reward Current Account today and started the switch process which will commence tomorrow (from M&S to Halifax).

As soon as you get your gift card; there is no obligation to stay with them.

I have never used the switching service, nor attempted one of these bonuses.

Could I absolutely clarify this is the best way of doing things?

I apply online for an M&S Premium (Premier?) account at a cost of £10 / month
Via some post / phone calls, I finally have a fully functional account.
I then call the switching service to transfer a dormant (with no SO/DDs) into the M&S account.

At this point (within 1 month), I receive £100 and £50 giftcard and some coffee vouchers.

After 3 months, I downgrade to a free M&S current account.

    Have I understood that correctly?
    Thanks

I opened my FD account on Friday and the call centre worker was based in Leeds.

But also remember MKS have their own banking license so that cosy arrangement may change in time.
