How long has it taken for people to receive their electronic key thingy? Mine was supposed to have arrived by now but I've had nothing, and I'm about to have my old account closed soon so will be without online banking if it doesn't turn up this weekend.

Don't want to scare you but it was over three weeks for me. You should still be able to use telephone banking though until you get the gadget?

I don't think people should ask for the switch unless they have a fully working account. Though of course this won't help in your particular case.

Got the security gadget this morning, at long last. That was 3 weeks from applying to having a useable account.

You are doing better than me - it's three weeks tomorrow and all i've had is the first pair of forms to sign. Although they like those so much that they've sent me them three times so far.

No account details, no card, no security gadget thing, no welcome pack, no code (or codes?). I tried to call them but ended up with a call centre in Manila so

needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. They did eventually transfer me to someone in the UK (who said that the Manila site was for when UK was busy) but all that got me was the third copy of the forms to sign.

Three weeks today for me, and finally received debit card, PIN, and booklet of hot drinks vouchers. After activating card and setting up a security number over the phone it now seems I need the security gizmo to log in to online banking, so another wait. Not impressed with the speed of this so far!

No £50 gift card though; does that arrive separately? Or should it have been included with the book of drinks vouchers?

It arrives separately. Think mine came shortly after the welcome pack but I opened my account a couple of months ago before M&S started offering a no fees one and it got so busy.

    Hi innovate,

    I'm quite surprised by this.

I applied online on 21st May and received confirmation of account opening by email the next working day. 2 days later I received an application to sign and send off. I got my debit card on 29th and started the switch that day. Yesterday I got paperwork through for the switch, phoned them again and they initiated the switch yesterday.

Hopefully, yours will get sorted soon.

    Little bit surprised.

Received my £100 Gift Card today.

My switch completion date is tomorrow!

I think I may get rid of my co-op account in favour of this for a while until some more offers come up! Do I need any DD's/SO's or can I just let M&S do the switch(nothing to switch) and close the account for me?

you dont need any to switch, but probably worth sticking an SO on there so atleast they have "something" to switch.

Applied for this account this morning. I was waiting on the Tesco Bank news but it's a bit underwhelming and doesn't have any switching incentives so I went for this instead! Still waiting for an email to confirm my application but on reading the majority of the comments that's quite normal, I'm not expecting anything swift with this process!
