At the moment I am actively using my 2 x current accounts and want to avail myself of these "free" vouchers....so my question is, with which bank can I open a current account very quickly to then enable me to switch to M&S?

Preferably one that has no conditions such as monthly funding of £xxx.

    thanks

    Hi,

I opened a Natwest Select current account to facilitate a switch to the co-op. The account can be opened online and normally will be opened immediately.

Had a bunch of post from M&S bank today. The PIN has arrived, hooray. Plus a bank statement for the new account with no transactions on it. Seems they produce these regardless. Then a big fat welcome pack, delivered in an embossed envelope.

The security key has still not arrived, even though they said they sent it week before last. Same for the additional switching information that they promised Friday a week ago.

    Hi innovate,

    I'm quite surprised by this.

I applied online on 21st May and received confirmation of account opening by email the next working day. 2 days later I received an application to sign and send off. I got my debit card on 29th and started the switch that day. Yesterday I got paperwork through for the switch, phoned them again and they initiated the switch yesterday.

Hopefully, yours will get sorted soon.

    My experience so far.

I applied on the 16 May and received confirmation by email within a couple of hours.

A week later I received an application to sign and send off (which I did straight away) and to date have not received anything further.

You do not need to have a dd or standing orders to qualify for the switch. However I have a few in place to transfer.

received switching documentation, PIN but no keypad and like innovate an embossed welcome pack.

also received a huge amount of free hot drinks in the welcome pack (signed up for the premium account).

couldn't call the switching team as they finish at 5pm on Saturday.

hopefully Monday i can call them up and request the switch to get the last step progressed.

also not sure when they take the £10? as my account is currently empty.. cant access it online yet without a keypad?

Don't know when they take the £10 but you can pay money into the account now, as you know the sort code and account number.

The £10 fee is payable in arrears, fortunately; however beware that's balanced out with 30 days notice being required to cancel the account.
