Well I should now add that my son has agreed to be the ringbearer - the Bride wanted one as it is traditional in her culture.

After the previous post I made saying I was going to get on with some jobs during the next two hours, I immediately rang my mother then an hour and a half later (time spent chatting) I had to rush to have lunch before meeting my brother. Talk about skiving from work! So nothing got done - except I went into town after picking up my son and we bought him a 3 piece suit for the wedding, a new whistling kettle as I broke the old one the other day, and a new teapot as my hubby broke the lid of ours today. Been a very expensive week what with this wedding suddenly happening!

Morning to all you fly people - looks like I'm first one up today unless witchypoo stayed up all night :D

Time for a cuppa tea and catch up as DD still in bed, DS at his dads for weekend and OH was at work at 7pm. Just me and DD at home today - oh dear. Its a struggle with her as she hates any sort of discipline from me and likes to do what she wants when she wants.

Didnt get her room even started yesterday altho DS' is now grade 1. My plan was to put everything off DD's floor into 7 bags and she could sort and put one away each day for a week, as I am NOT going to do the whole room for her AGAIN. Didnt happen tho as she had a school event in the afternoon and was naughty. Stupid really but she deliberately broke a plate (only a plastic one) but we had only the night before had a conversation about vandalism and trashing things for no reason which is exactly what she did. When I found out and spoke to her about it I told her we were going home and to go put her rubbish into a bin. She disappeared and I spent the next 20 minutes at school looking for her. I was livid. From there it went from bad to worse as I told her she would have to tidy her room as she wasnt doing it. She just said "well it wont get done then". What do I do with her. I actually cried last night and my DS bless him spent ages consoling me. So today and tomorrow its just me and DD, and I have to avoid a fight as she will be straight on the phone to her dad telling him to come home from work as I am being horrible. Oh and her school report was bl**dy brilliant, working above the expected level in all subjects (altho I suspect she is not pushin herself as she wont practice her spellings etc, she just hopes for the best and usually gets 20/20!) Could she be bored? Who knows.

Sorry having a rant (and a worry)

    Todays plan

    Meal plan then Shopping
Post parcel to old au pair in France (ouch will be expensive)
Clean Little Tykes kitchen to give to friend (DD can help maybe)
    Whatever else comes up

    See ya later

    Morning all

Oh Kaz I do feel for you. I do remember when I was younger my mum telling me to tidy my room and whenever I did she would come in and criticize it saying it wasn't good enough. Eventually I thought why bother as whatever I did in there would not be good enough so I stopped tidying it and it started to resemble pigpens before pic!!!!

She is obviously an intelligent girl so perhaps trying to treat her as an adult and explaining why you want her to tidy her room in a calm and collected manner will help rather than ordering her. Could you also agree on a reward if she helps you, like her choice of takeaway or a trip to the park. I don't mean this to sound patronising but I know it can get so frustrating at times. Plus a day spent together alone when you are not seeing eye to eye will be a long day.

    Morning all.

Following my tardyness in the week I've grounded myself today and won't go out until this house is tidy. I've just spent an hour and a half cleaning the kitchen but there's still things to do so I can join in on kitchen day. I'm itching to decorate it but I still haven't finished what I want to do in the bathroom. Which I started in.. March.. ahem..

Livingroom next I think. I'm bored with the layout and need to look at it with a fresh pair of eyes, swap things around from another room maybe?

Good luck with your trials and endeavors and little naughties today.
    Catch you later.

Morning all. Not much sleep, between the toothache and throat managed to keep me awake.

5lilpigs welcome, and congratulations on the arrival of the 6th, must be hard work.

galantvr4 that is great news, I hope everything settles down soon, must be such a worry for you all. A friend of mine was on about going to that festival because of the 'dog show' that is on, when I just had a look it does look good, pity we're busy this weekend I think. Chopwell is lovely, we saw a little red squirrel last time we were there with some friends.

Spent last night and this morning hunting around for info on the turtles we got last week, from what it seems so far we've been sold them with very incorrect info. Were told tehy just needed an aquarium, now being told they also need basking lamps, basking area, UV lights etc etc. As you can no doubt guess I'm not a happy bunny so doing more research and trying to get in touch with where I bought them! **Edit** contacted where I bought them and he's sticking by what he's said. Suppose we'll just have to see how it goes.

As for flying, not a lot done this morning, going to do a list in a mo. Have managed to rehome a set of alloy wheels on freecycle which someone is collecting at 11am. Gave them to the most polite person, had some right rude people. I put they needed to be collected and got messages like 'I live at xxxxx drop them off tonight for me' response was NO!
One day I might be more organised...........

    Morning.

Was up at 8 which isn't bad to say i was on the wine last night. The grease tribute night we went to was really good fun, and we had a good boogie and i had a really good chat to my friend too. Didn't get in till one  so i am surprisingly energetic today.

DH did the early shift, made me bacon butties for breakie, cleaned up the mouse that one of the cats brought in, washed and dressed charlie, nd i have had a mooch on here and done very little.

Plan is to go and do a shop for food and baby safety things, and as i spent a lot less last night than we thought then i am going to treat us to lunch out somewhere.

    Anyway, still to do:

lil_me you take care, you need to let your body rest so it can get its strength back and fight the infections.

got barely none of my mammoth list done in the end yesterday. did spruce up and hoover through and do the bathroom (well the toilet and sink...) kitchen is fine and my bedroom could do with a wipe round with a wet cloth but otherwise things are fine.

am feeding friends cat and dog as they have gone away for the funeral this weekend. they are only down the road so i trotted down at 8.30 this mornig in my pjs! ;) OH still fast asleep so i am enjoying some peace and quiet on here, catching up with the thread. we are going to the new hotel today so i can show him.

hmmm, he's just got up.... kettle on :)

    Morning all

Two loads of washing on the line. It rained hard last night but it's dry so far today. Hope it lasts for a few hours.

Kitchen S & Sd, vacuumed living room, hallway and kitchen. Angora carpets again from cats wrestling.

Glorious drying day here, so windy! Making the most of it and have done 5 wash loads so far. Sofa throws, bedding and bed throws some of which are dry and back on. Kitchen done, livingroom reshuffled and I've taken out loads of nick nacks I'm sick of looking at. Only bringing a few pieces back in rather than everything I possess! Bedroom done now too and I'm writing a wish list of things I'd like to buy to update different rooms.

Bathroom next and I may even finish the decorating this weekend. I need to reseal the bath and check my finances to see if I can change the flooring..

    TTFN

Edit to say.. that'll be three washloads on the lawn now as the line seems to have given way.. booooo
