Hi Sparky, :hello:
Shame the holiday with in-laws didn't go so well, but sounds like your own family made up for the disappointment - great to have good family whose presence cheers you up.
Encouraging news re the 'new' house and co-operative current LL, keeping fingers crossed your current bosses approve a bonus..
Great advice from Lucky - have you looked around for 0% CC deals DH would be eligible for?
..Banks are so annoying! When I really needed to borrow money L charged 24% at best, but now they're sending almost weekly emails offering up to £50K at less than 4% interest - very unfair!0 -
thanks for the comments guys, for some reason DH is only showing as 65% eligable for a 0% card. I am hoping paying off even more of his nationwide CC will mean the chances increase now! xx

thanks for all the ideas for DH greatly appreciated. I am currently waiting on work paying me back c£350 which I really need to add to my Santander 123 current account to make sure I earn the 3% interest on it rather than them! cheeky monkeys they are.
the house is all sorted for the move, paid £50 to removal men with £250 to follow on the day (good value I think for such a long trip!) on facebook seller group got a table and chairs set for £40 (4 chairs and little table good table - very cheap I think!) and have (glup) £2,750 to pay on 23rd Jul. along with normal rent in London of £1,235 and bills (luckily no bills for July in bristol!). That means that I will have very little left in my savings until we get our deposit back from our london flat (but this is £1,500 so should be great!) we also do not have any real furniture so need to buy a bed (or two!) and sofas. So looking at gumtree and ebay like crazy! Although its a little tricky at the mo as people dont really want to hang onto a sofa they are selling for another month so perhaps leave it nearer the time.
In a couple of weeks I will als obe doing my first long drive in my new car by myself and I am worrying about it... its on two motorways and takes two and ahlf hours! each way. Leaving Friday and coming back Sunday. I know I shouldnt worry but I just havent driven much in the 4 years I have lived in london so a little nervous. Never mind trying not to work myself up about it! x

afternoon all - I hope that you are all good. I've been told off at work today for 'winding down' which basically means that I am working my normal hours and without getting everything done because I am pushing back. I was due a huge bonus and they took great delight in telling me that if I had handed my notice in 9 days after I did I would have been entitled to it. Thanks guys! No wonder I don’t want to work 10 hour days anymore.
Never mind. 10 days after submitting them still not rec’d £400 that’s fine next month I will claim the 3% interest I lost as you couldn’t be bother to pay me back!
Frustrating but never mind…. Hope you are all well X

Hi Sparky, :hello:
You are going to be so happy the last time you walk out of your current workplace - they don't deserve you, and really can't expect you to put in over 100% of your contracted hours at this point!
Don't worry about the drive, just make sure it's not rush hour when you're setting out in London..0 -
Thanks Robin.
Indeedy you are wise as always!
The drive is still playing on my mind but trying to forget about it.
My 'leaving' do is tonight at a certain famous london sporting event! Cant wait although not looking forward to the very long tube journey in this heat.
I'm also pleased about MSE this month. After all fees, deposits, moving costs bills etc before we get our current house deposit back I will still have £1,000 in savings! this is great as a) when we do get it (baring any deduction) I should get £1,500 back. £1,000 will go off the 0% credit cards, and rest for bed and sofa. (plus some other bits for the house as we have literally no furniture etc). This leaves me with my 'emergency' fund and hopefully I should be able to reach my goal of paying off all debts by Christmas! Although when I am settled and earning a little in my new job I would really like to get an apple watch. Its a lot of money - but it would be a great purchase. However, not getting ahead of myself and blowing the budget just yet!!
Hope you are all good and not spending too much.

Hi Brightspark!
Hope you have fun tonight! And don't feel bad for winding down, come on to work overtime on your notice period unless total emergency just can't be expected!!
Hope you get the cash outta them soon!
Don't worry about the drive either, although faster I find motor ways much easier driving, after 15mins or so you'll settle down and relax and you'll be fine. Are you driving to Bristol? If so you'll be fine, once you're on the M4 it's mega easy I do that route but come off at Windsor a lot and it's not usually too bad! Sometimes even at 6pm on a FridayGood luck! xx

Hi LondonGirl
The thing is about work I really do care, always worked harder than some people but because they think I am only doing normal hours they think I am taking the micky! Never mind.
With the drive its not sadly, I know that route well! Its from Surrey to West Sussex so M25 m20 etc... on a Friday at 2-3pm.... I am sure it will be ok its just worrying about it! x
