So. It has been a while SO much has changed.
I bought that stupid house, 10 days later my husband left me.
I dated some complete idiots in 2019, including one who tried to kill me....
I broke up with this complete idiot in Nov 2019 and then in January 2020 I met someone new.
I spent SO much in the divorce, I had to move house to get the ex-husband off the mortgage and I moved to a new county and near a lovely new city. I have no money left, debt and restarting my journey.
I then spent 2020 being discriminated at work, forcing me to resign in January this year.
I am now on garden leave and so excited to start a new role in July.
My best friend had a baby in 2019, and gave me by beautiful goddaughter earlier this year, I was delighted to be able to join them in their bubble for childcare to help her husband return to work.
My DO (I am going for darling other half - pronouns are he/his etc and he hates partner) has a daughter who lives with us and is turning 18 soon. So, I am now a step parent! She has a difficult relationship with her mother.
I hope we can start a family once I am settled in my new job, perhaps this time next year, he is an amazing dad and we are both excited for the future.
I now have 3 dogs, rather than just my little Penny. Well, not so little now!
I am finally ready to be in a better place after a horrible couple of years and can't wait to catch up with you all xx

Hi @Brightspark87 👏 Sounds like you've really been through it but are now out the other side. What are your financial goals? Look forward to cheering you on!0

Golly financially I really need to sort myself out. The finances are all a bit of a mess to be honest.
My DO has such an unstable, difficult income. This means I pay 100% for mortgage (house is in my name only) and most other bills. I have various debts now, one from a camper we bought and is loan over 3 years, 6 months of which have gone. I also have various moving expenses, paying off ex and house bits on a couple of cards AND I am hoping to get some form of payout from my former employer. This could be enough to clear my debt or enough to build a much wanted extension... time will tell if I get anything at all but emotionally it is very difficult. I will write more of this but honestly, it isn't huge but it should be enough to clear this debt. I know this sounds like I am not dealing with it BUT I really need to focus and my goal for my next 3 months is to focus on this and resolve all my outstanding financial elements. I am cashing in a plan which will give me about £500 and pay off some of this debt too and I will retain my emergency fund of c£1,500. this isn't enough for more than 6 weeks of no pay but provides a good base.
I would say debt presently (without detail) is:
Mortgage - £280,000 - £1002 a month
CC 1 - £4,000 - 0%
CC 2 - £6,000 -0%
CC3. - £1,000 - 0%
Loan - left is £15,000 and payments are £580 per month.
I am so fortunate to have found the new role I have, it is going to give me a nice little pay rise which will be about £500 net a month extra. I hope I will also get a car through work which will again help with the general savings addition pot. they seem a little more family friendly and supportive.
We bought the camper for our well being and general happiness as well as my DO having the chance to have another income stream because he will be in charge of renting it out, once it is up to scratch. she is a stunning van and I am sure we can make a little extra this way.
Being a step parent to a teenager isn't easy and I feel like I can never win and always moan and nag. Then they both say I cause my own problems by moaning! Anyhow, on to more positive things, coming up this week is my birthday and visiting some of my favourite people.
I have spent some of my birthday money on the garden and I LOVE spending time out there and enjoying the sunshine we have had recently.
Off to the shops in the AM to get a few foodie bits and some flowers for my trips tomorrow.
How are you all?

Morning - go sorry Afternoon all!
I have today started the process of selling one of my holdings to help pay off some things, this should be about £700 after tax. I have also bought (well tomorrow I am collecting it!) a little garden set - these retail new for over £1,000 and I have birthday money so using that to buy this for £200.
We've got people coming to the garden more and more often and I really can't have people on the wonky old chairs I have made last for the last few years.
Also managed to get some second hand cushion covers that match a ridiculously expensive chair I have. £15 each... rather than £60 from the shop!
The garden is amazing, I am incredibly lucky.
Hope you are all keeping well?
