So progress. I have now received 25 emails in response to my 4 letters from the old Landlord and he has agreed to pay rent refund but nothing else>?

    Well, that's something..
he has also said that we have to take him to court to get the deposit back as he will just ignore the DPS from now on.

    Frustrating much?!

 Follow GM's advice; get the paperwork together to go through small claims court, send ex-LL a Letter before Action (not that I have first hand experience of this route, but it seems pointless to engage in further correspondence with someone who clearly doesn't understand: A) English. B) That they're already deep in the doo-dah!
No NSD went for a drink at lunch so that went out of the window.... xx

    Reckon you deserved a stress-relieving libation! ;)

I did 5 lots of the vouchers :o. That sounds so greedy but with 4 of us and the price of things it's not excessive. That's my story and I'm sticking to it anyway :rotfl:.

Glad you are getting settled in your new place Xx

5 vouchers is good going! the paper went quickly around my way as we have a couple of big morrisons, I had to get mine in the city! Annoyingly, they deliver to my work but not to my home. Work is 1.3 miles from nearest one, home 0.37 miles! crazy!

Yes the small claims processes have already been started from our letters, but have another one to send Thursday which is 10 days after our first letter giving him another 7 until I physically pay the court fees etc.

Part from that just bought some crackers for my lunch and thats it! aiming for lots of NSD in August up to 4!

Also, very happy first day at working wearing a ebay dress I bought ages ago but in a smaller size and I can squeeze into it today!! Exciting!!

Have a good day all xxx

Morning all massively important day at work today...

Tis a crazy time of it....

BUT all good things just of changes and things. I really need to stop spending. I was tempted into lunch out yesterday and dropped £8 without thinking about it. These little lunches I used to have regularly really dented my budget and now I must really think about it before I go for it....

not a NSD today for me as bought chewing gum, coffee and apple as was in the office for 7am start! I needed it!! Kitchen doesnt open until 9am and 2 hours at a computer without a coffee would be deathly!

Have a good day all xx

    Good morning all!

I had the best weekend, saw old friends and lots of family which was great and even better than that... I GOT MY DEPOSIT BACK!!!

I have started paying off debt already, clearing one catalogue completely (APR 39.9% crazy interest rates) and planning to clear the rest but juggling with overdrafts being paid off too. I want to clear these as the interest rates are so high!

I also chased FOS with my PPI claim, changed address and explained what happened with the fire and the lovely guy I spoke to said given the circumstances he will try to make my claim a priority to be dealt with! Its been nearly 15 months since I wrote so hopefully thats another bit of money coming my way.

It feels so good to be paying off so much, I will update you all with any more news.

I also am crossing my fingers that my insurance claim will come through as I have also spent so much replacing things!

Have a good day everyone xxx

  • So exciting times ahead. I have also got some money back from our insurance claim now. The thing is, I really need to replace some items its been tough living without them for a month let alone longer. However, I feel guilty spending this money.

One thing we need (to replace) is our camera. Now DH says that buying a second hand / cheap one is a false economy. We want to spend c£200. But I feel awful spending this much on a camera when we are still in debt. However, we need one and have our honeymoon soon. Difficult situation. Also same with all my 'beauty' bits. I need to replace all of them and I just feel awful going to boots and spending £100's. However, I did lose them all in the fire. Something I will cut down on, ie cheaper brands or not needed, but still....

Hope you are all enjoying some sunshine today x
