Kwik fit are inspecting the current condition of components.
Aldi are telling you components need replacing based on a maintenance schedule, current condition irrelevant.

So they could both be right.

I know where the oil level is on the screen

Good. So you know that your "no dipstick" comment was as correct as it was relevant.
Are you suggesting i should have filled the oil up prior to my service?

No, I'm suggesting that stopping and checking the oil level should be the very first thing you do when the low oil pressure light tells you that your engine has no oil being circulated around it. If the level is good, you phone the recovery service.

So pay £200 for a service and mot to do a veriety of things including top up oil. Only for the oil to require topping up the next day. So i should just do it.

The oil light only ever came on after my service. It may well have been low before, but the computer would tell me when it needs changing and whether i am still ok to drive.

Your missing the point in the fact i paid for the oil to be filled up as part of my service but it wasnt.

Did you check under the car for a leak? They may not have tightened up the sump plug and it was slowly dripping out.

You havent read whats been posted.
With reagrd to service history only being main dealer/specalist Id disagree with that. If the service is done to schedule then its service history, regardless of who did it(maybe not kwik fit though)

The second time it came on i was going to audi that day anyway for the indicator. They told me, there was not enough oil in and that was the only problem - imagine my confusion over this when i had literally just had it serviced, and already been back once to have it 'filled up'.
