Changing the cambelt, whatever the interval, would never come under a warranty anyway - it's maintenance, as is changing the water pump whilst the belt's off.
If the pump was leaking, then replacement would be covered under the warranty, and a new belt would go on as part of that. But if the pump isn't leaking, then - nope.
It doesn't matter whether the recommended interval's changed or not - if that has happened, then it's happened because the old interval was found to be too long.
If your "peace of mind" payment included all routine servicing and maintenance costs, then - yes - it would pay. But you don't seem to imply that it does...?0 -
The recommendations on changing it at 5 years will always have been the case. 5 years or x miles. Whatever comes first.
