What washers were failing, the one for the windscreen? I thought that was an MOT fail?

The MOT "reason for rejection" is "The windscreen washers do not provide enough liquid to clear the windscreen in conjunction with the wiper(s).".

If just the NS jet (or part thereof) is blocked, you'd certainly still get adequate water on a modern car to do that.

Of course, why the OP hadn't already noticed that - along with the bald(ing) tyres and low oil level - as part of their normal routine checking-over of the car is another question...

The rear brake disc is a wear and tear item so will not be covered by the warranty. What exactly did the report from Audi say, getting low or already showing groove marks, etc?

The cambelt is a time/mileage limited item and will not be covered by warranty. Its is up to the end user to check when these things need doing/have been done. I would love to know how kwikfit 'check' this.

Generally the recommendation is to get the water pump done at the same time as the cambelt as the front end of the car is in bits anyway. Not a warranty issue.

So your complaint with the dealer will get nowhere.

The dealer issue is another thing. Negligent misrepresentation.

    Misrepresentation of what?

The warranty wouldn't have covered any of the items flagged up on the service and if the cambelt did need changing then you should have negotiated that in when you purchased the car (assuming it needed changing at the time).

The dealer was under no obligation to point this out.

I was aware the tyres needed replacing and planned on doing it mot time. The fact i needed 2 new tyres was not a surprise. It was the balancing issue i was querying.

As for the washer. I imagine it must just be the ns jet then. But why are two different garages giving me different results?

I have another thread for that. But in short the dealer misrepresented as stating the car had full service history, and sold me the warranty based on his statement. But find that there was not a full service history and the warranty company went into liquidation.

When new tyres are fitted they always need balancing. Balancing is not normally part of a service schedule and unless it throws a weight, it should not need to be done again until tyre replacement time.

Some garages are more thorough than others and some like to try it on to get extra work.

Have you actually tested the washer to see how it is in relation to the off side one? The modern fan type ones can get all gummed up with the window washer stuff so its not unheard of them to get a bit clogged.

Re the tyres, that's not the point. KF failed your car on an item that was NOT a fail. Doesn't that bother you? It should.

As for the washer, how can you not know whether one/both isn't working? Don't you ever use the windscreen washer?

You're wasting your time there, I've tried to tell the OP this but the answer's clearly not what they're looking for.

    I'll have another go.

OP: Yes, KF were wrong, you should have only paid once, you can take them to court and make thousands in compo.

    Is that better?

Ktf - i dont know why you reference the brake pads with warranty? My issue us kwik fit didnt pick up on the fact they needed replacing in my service or mot, not even an advisory. However audi stated they need replacing.
