  • I have noticed the next day delivery offered with prime doesn't happen next day more than it used to. But what made me laugh when someone at Amazon must have pressed the wrong button was when an item showed as delivered ten mins after I ordered it online!

The lack of next day delivery (not just at Xmas etc) has meant I give Amazon less preference now. There's no reason to if they can't guarantee next day delivery. They certainly don't compensate with anything worthwhile when you complain (yet another month of Amazon Prime that isn't, doesn't really seem like meaningful thing to offer).
  • Have to say I have had fantastic service from Amazon.
  • I've had nothing but issues with AL and today was the final straw. I waited in all day yesterday for a parcel that I paid extra for to ensure delivery. Then this morning I go on the tracking and get "parcel delivered to recipient, delivered to Claire" Well I don't know who was passing themselves off as me (if indeed the parcel was delivered at all) but Amazon cannot say who it actually went to, if anywhere, because the driver has updated to say that I had received it.

After an hour of arguing with Amazon saying I would only accept a re-delivery if they could ensure it wasn't AL that delivered, they wouldn't so I have got a refund but it leaves me wondering if someone did take my parcel and they now have all my contact and Amazon info.

Very very unhappy and won't be using Amazon again after a year of awful service from them.

In all the years I have ordered from Amazon I have never experienced any problems. Two items ordered Sunday, delivered yesterday. I must be very lucky or the delivery drivers in this area are exceptionally good.
  • I don't expect I'll be getting my shiny new phone for Christmas now ... received email yesterday "We tried but failed to deliver your package today" ... they didn't try very hard! ... I agree with Doc N regarding the number of deliveries the couriers are asked to do ... I've done some myself ... SUGGESTION ... apparently Amazon offer a Royal Mail local collect service, where it is delivered to your local post office for you to collect ... for people like me who live out in the sticks, it's probably the best option ... unless of course, someone knows better ...
  • Wow ... just got my parcel delivered by a polite, smiling Eastern European guy (don't tell Mr Farage), who knocked on my door despite my dogs being in the garden barking at him, and he didn't even need a signature ... so no complaints here, as my house is not the easiest to find

If there is an Amazon locker location near to where you live or work, I can recommend using that delivery service.

The goods get put in the locker and you get e-mailed and texted a code that opens the locker door. Once the goods are delivered, they stay in the locker for about 4 days so giving plenty of time to pick them up but if for any reason you can't, they get collected and returned back to Amazon.

I use this service for as many deliveries as possible (you can't use it for very large items) as it saves having to wait in for a delivery that may never appear.

There was an Amazon delivery to work on Thursday last week (not sure which courier as I wasn't working) and the van got stolen from outside the door of the shared offices. Presumably the driver left the keys in/doors unlocked and somebody had followed them so took the opportunity.

It had our office Christmas tree in it and probably countless Christmas presents for other Amazon customers too :(
  • Not long been off the phone to Amazon customer services. Yet another fake delivery attempt. Been in all evening - alleged attempt at 20:04. And apparently Amazon Logistics told their CS colleague that they cannot contact their driver. Really? Who's ever heard of a delivery driver with no mobile phone? Quite difficult to believe, having enjoyed over 12 years in the professional end of the logistics business.

When this happened a couple of weeks ago, they were at least able to contact the driver (yeah, in all day long...) and he returned within the hour. Having said that, he simply knocked at the door and ran off like some kiddie prankster! My parcel was sat on the doorstep...

Amazon really wants to consider going back to using professional carriers, rather than these local charlatans in their unmarked vans and questionable work ethic. How on earth does Amazon pick them in the first place? How on earth do they monitor what kind of reputation-damaging job they're doing on Amazon's behalf?

    Are you listening, Christopher North??

Using Amazon Locker still does not guarantee delivery though.

Today our Amazon order, delivered by an Amazon Logistics driver to an Amazon Locker failed....

.... because the driver arrived after the shopping center it was meant to go to had closed.

You would think that this sort of thing would be factored into the delivery process?
