But given that the package was given to the carrier on Monday evening, why did it take until Thursday to deliver it?
I opted for the free 3/5 day delivery which is what I got so I don't see the need to question when the service was exactly as expected. The actual day stated for expected delivery was Thursday so that was bang on.0 -
I've just been on the phone again to amazon due to another failed delivery.
Yesterday they couldn't gain access? I was in all day and no-one rang the buzzer (in a flat in block of 6, the panel is next to the door) so not sure if the driver forgot how to use a doorbell:huh:
I called them up and had to explain the process of how to use said doorbell, um press the same number that is on my address and I'll answer. not exactly rocket science!
They again attempted to deliver today, again I was in but this time they couldn't find my address!!! So yet another phone call full of lots of apologies and they will attempt to deliver it tomorrow, we will see!:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly0 -
It seems that the drivers don't like walking upstairs. I too, live in a block and on several occasions they have 'attempted' delivery. The intercom system is connected to my mobile phone, so even on the off chance that thet had attempted to even get out of the van and ring my buzzer, I would have had a missed call.
Once or twice I can understand but this happens to 2 out of 3 my next day deliveries using Amazon Prime. I have two more scheduled with them and have emailed them to let them know I'll be cancelling my Prime if it occurs again.0 -
three days I have been waiting for my parcel, first they said they would deliver sunday, fine, I was home, then an email to say they would change it due to unexpected circumstances
I asked them to leave it in the bin cupboard UNDER the stairs if no one answered the bell and THREE times I get the undelivered email
HOW hard is it to blooming enter a gate and go under the stairs to the bin cupboard?
Just spend half an hour on the phone and got it to be delivered to the post office nearby.
i just wish Amazon would use royal mail. shall be cancelling my Prime as soon as I can, but because of this debacle they gave me a free month extra0 -
I saw this and following the recent experience I have had with Amazon UK I felt compelled to reply.
I purchased an item as part of the Black Friday deals for £109.99, usual price £199.99. This was on the 24th November with an expected delivery date of 26th November. As yet, the item has not arrived, and according to Amazon, it is still out for delivery. As far as they are concerned it is lost in transit and are offering me a refund for the £109.99 as they do not have any more items in stock. I do not find this acceptable as the item is currently showing as 4 in stock at a price of £199.99.
Their idea of compensation is to offer me a one month's extension to Amazon Prime, which is worth about £6, and yet I am expected to be out of pocket for £90 to replace this item which was ordered as a birthday present for my father.
Needless to say, complaints are still ongoing...0 -

It wouldn't by any chance be City Link who 'lost' it, would it?0 -
I've stopped having Amazon items delivered to my house unless I am 100% sure they will fit through the letterbox.
Now get stuff delivered to a collect + place. A petrol garage which is on the way home from work so now detour needed. They text me when it has arrived.
Otherwise you have to wait in anytime from 8am to 8pm for Amazon Logistics. Can't be rsed with that!Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -
For my sins i am one of those AL delivery driver. After reading your posts and working there im not surprised about your complaints.
The set up is poor and amatuerish, Amazon only set up the logistics because you the consumers want cheaper and cheaper prices and i count myself in that too as im a prime member and frequent amazon user. So they run the logistics on a shoe string budget.
The pay is poor and working hours are long so there is a very high turnover of staff. Typically you get paid less than minimum wage but because your are self employed they get away with it. A normal day can start around 8am and finish 7pm unless they have delays which is a regular occurance of 4-5 time a week which can add 1 hour to 4 hours onto that. The drivers especially at this time of year have around 180 drops which mean you need to average a drop every 3 minutes that includes driving time and handing it to a customer or neighbour. Amzon dont keep drivers in the same area so drivers can be in stoke one day, stafford the next and lichfield the day after so drivers cant build relationships with customers or get to know a route.
All that being said most drivers try their best working 6 days a week. But there are a number of drivers who dont care and will not do their job properly. If amazon want to run the logistics sucessfully they need to address concerns put forward by drivers but from experience they do not want to and wont listen.
From a customer prospective if you want to ensure every chance of getting your parcel ensure your contact number is updated as drivers can call you from their devices if your property is difficult to find. Try and have a safe place to put your parcel if you are not going to be in as the delivery times is any time between 7am and 9pm which is unacceptable for you to stay in and wait for a delivery. Also that time frame includes business addresses. Or a specific neighbour you know will be available as drivers will try one or two but if that neighbour is down 3 or 4 doors away they will not try them unless you inform them as most drivers will only try one either side.0 -
We have a couple of good AL drivers in our area, and one who is terrible.
Mon - email @7pm claiming 'failed delivery' no card through door
Tue - email @10am claiming 'failed delivery', but card through door.
Wed - email @7pm claiming 'failed delivery', but no card through door.
House was empty Mon and Tues, so could be genuine, but wife stayed in all day Weds. Suspicion is that the driver didn't even bother.
Re-arranged delivery for Monday 8th as we were away for a few days.
Sat - email @7pm claiming 'failed delivery', card through door
Just had to contact Amazon yet again, to arrange delivery tomorrow. I wonder if he'll even try.
(Meantime, lots of deliveries from other firms, and two from Amazon - all delivered without fuss - a couple of them to neighbours when we were away)0
