Amazon Logistics (rant)

Good to see I'm not the only one who've had issues with Amazon Logistics.
I ordered an item (SD memory card) this week - delivery was by Amazon Logistics, received email next morning saying "out for delivery", and then at about 7pm an email stating item had been delivered through my letterbox - but of course no delivery had taken place, no-one had been anywhere near the house. Not at any neighbours either.
Contacted customer services who didn't sound at all surprised but asked me to wait 24hrs in case it was a tracking mistake and turned up next day (which it obviously didn't).
Replacement was then sent by next day delivery via Royal Mail (so even Amazon didn't try their own delivery service again) , which of course arrived exactly as scheduled just after 9am.0 -
Must be lucky here - they haven't used Logistics since well before Christmas.
Mainly Royal Mail and DPD, with an occasional Yodel or UPS, and no problems at all.
I'm assuming that's nothing to do with paying for Prime and getting a better delivery service as a result?0 -
Actually I've had the opposite experience. I'm an Amazon Prime member and in my area (South East Leics) everything seems to come via Amazon Logistics and always arrrives next day, I've had no problems at all.
By contrast, my daughter, who I have added to my Prime Membership, is a student down in Canterbury, Kent. They don't seem to use Amazon Logistics there, and use various different companies, and things seldom arrive the next day as they should. This week she had an order she urgently needed which was due on Monday, supposed to be delivered by Yodel. They lied about an attempted delivery, saying 'they couldn't locate the front door' (perfectly ordinary house, so possibly the front door might be located at the front of the house, duh!) Subsequently after much chasing by my daughter, they admit they have lost the item.
If I, as the main Prime member, was getting that level of service, I would cancel Prime. But Amazon Logistics have been great for me. I guess it just depends on who your local couriers are, operating under the Amazon Logistics banner.0 -
This takes the biscuit, despite having my contact number, despite signing up for text notification, despite having alternative delivery instructions, the first I know that they have "tried to deliver" is when I receive an email saying they tried to deliver - on three separate occasions.
I complained and the answer from Amazon contained the followingAs an online retail company we rely heavily on the postal system to supply our customers with their orders, and that any delay during transit such as this reflects badly on us.
How can it be the postal system when it's fugging AMAZON LOGISTICS that is failing to deliver?0 -

I feel you pain - I've had two deliveries this week which were out for delivery from the Hayes depot and then on both days - nothing received!
No text messages, no calls - then the order page was update to say 'delayed due to external factors'.
This despite web chat agents insisting that the deliveries would be made.
A really pants service.0 -
I believe this bunch (who are expanding) get a lot of the 'Amazon Logistics' parcels.

That rings a bell - from the bad old days when AL were 'serving' this area. Must have been unprofitable for them, though (country area) - haven't had anything via AL for a long, long time.0 -

I think they just mean that they rely on couriers to get your order to you once it has dispatched and the understand that when it goes wrong they appreciate that it reflects badly on everyone.
It does seem like a bit of a generic reply but hardly worth getting worked up over.
You would expect the person to be raising that however, as with the instructions you have left it sounds like there is an underlying issue causing the delivery to fail.0 -
I am really cheesed off with Amazon Logistics. I ordered a guitar for next day delivery with a free trial of Prime. It should have arrived on Wednesday & according to the Amazon website it was out for delivery, on time & could be delivered at any time up to 9pm! I am still waiting for it! I have contacted Amazon chat a few times & they keep saying they will contact the courier & to give it another day! The item is no longer in stock & £25 everywhere else hence I haven't canceled it. If it ever arrives I wonder what state it will be in?!0

Snap. Items ordered Friday for Saturday delivery sent by Amazon Logistics and still not here. amazon asked me to wait a couple more days and have extended my prime membership by a month. This is really shoddy though.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
