That rings a bell - from the bad old days when AL were 'serving' this area. Must have been unprofitable for them, though (country area) - haven't had anything via AL for a long, long time.
Odd really - Amazon try so hard at customer service, but then fail at the final hurdle by using a really cr&p delivery service. All, I suspect, with the intention of persuading people to switch to having stuff delivered at the local shop.0 -

The same thing happened here.
I'm guessing that something happened at the warehouse or to one of the systems that supports it, as it's the first time in 3 or 4 years of us having prime that they've let us down.
I received an email from them on Friday to say the delivery had been delayed.0 -
I've had no email and tracking is still showing for the 5th. This is pants.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

I ordered on August 31st and I've now waited a full week as it was supposedly out for delivery last Wednesday!0

I received an email at 0953 this morning to say that my parcel was out for delivery (for the 2nd time!) but the bl00dy thing still hasn't arrived! Where are my goods Amazon?0

Live chatted with Amazon yesterday. They're assuming my parcel is lost and reordered them for express (before 1pm) delivery today with DPD. They didn't charge for the upgraded postage.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

The item I wanted was out of stock. In the end I managed to find a similar guitar package elsewhere and I've now received a refund from Amazon. I feel very annoyed that they lied to me twice about it being out for delivery!0

Moved away from Hertfordshire to rural Essex/Suffolk in March. Actually remember saying to the husband that one thing I wouldn't miss was the massive incompetence of Amazon Logistics, who'd started taking over from Royal Mail and DPD. They left a parcel in the bin, on bin day, which was carted off by the bin men. They said my house didn't exist, which was news to me, and probably also my mortgage provider. I spent a day in the front garden of my mid terrace home laying turf, but apparently I wasn't home.
After we moved here, it seemed we were free of the Amazon Logistics curse. Royal Mail and DPD brought my parcels. It was great. They either showed up with the postie at 9:30am, or I got a 1 hour delivery slot from DPD. Until last week. I ordered a plastic tray for a plant pot. No point in using Prime for that, so I chose "No Rush Delivery". Imagine my surprise to see they were sending Amazon Logistics from their depot in Milton Keynes, 63 miles away. For a £4 tray. Which they left under the wheels of the bin, after I left instructions to leave it down the enclosed side path.
Okay, fine. My fail. Next order will be placed with Next Day Delivery. Except having just received the tracking, they're sending that via Amazon Logistics too. Goodness only knows where that'll wind up.
The DPD depot is 25 miles away. The local Post Office is ten minutes away in the nearest town. How on earth is it cheaper to get someone to drive 120+ miles than give the order to Royal Mail or DPD?© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0 -

They don't come out with just your package.0
