The point is despite everything when you go to a court of law, you have to defend on points of law otherwise you'll lose. If you have a letter from the landowner saying for parking eye to cancel that will help. You need to press on them and on their obligations, that is their patients not on some third party megalomaniac company demanding money.

Kirby is right on this as fighting spirit and the fact of age and fighting in the war is not relevant here, we need to embarrass parking eye here and get them to pull this case before it gets to court, and the way to do that is through the press, they will hate the fact that their name is being dragged through the mud, and linking capita to it will do some good as well.

If this goes to court it will have to be your friend going there, is he well enough to even go there ? Will he be able to sit there and defend against a lawyer who's sole intention is to win the case for parking eye and make your friend out to be unreasonable and unwilling to sort out this situation before court? He will make out that the hospital stay and his condition is nothing and this parking ticket is more important than your friend's life.

Try to talk him around to speaking to the press it will aid his case much more IMO than going to court.

Another thing if this goes to court and your friend loses , ask the judge if this can be paid in instalments, so sending them a cheque every month for a £1 will cost them more to process than what they get out of it. Say to the judge that he's on a pension only and he needs money to live on, a pound a month is all he can afford. If they are claiming £165 as usual it should take about 14 years to pay ;)

Absolutely. They will step over his body as the leave court so i fully understand what i am up against and do not take these lawyers lightly. They are driven by money and nothing else.
If PE continue and a date is set, will i be able to submit further evidence and request more time to defend?

Yes. It may be better to do so proactively - i.e. sooner rather than later.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

That's the idea, go for them heavily, how they expect someone to deal with this whilst in hospital is beyond me, also after spending a month in hospital he must have had a myriad of things to do on his return home. Letters probably being the last of them.

    Good morning,

I am not surprised by PE or by the outrage, but I am surprised by the lack of sensible advice,
    So,
Have you contacted your MP? Parliament drafted and legislated bad law and they must sort it out, we are only 360 days from the next election and irate letters from voters count as the day draws closer.
Did you know that over 50 MPs served in the forces? This means that an round robin email to them should raise some dust. List from Google.
Have you looked for an ex services solicitor, barrister or QC who is willing to give a few hours pro-bono? There must be 100's in this country, possible one is also an MP? I looked on the British Legion web site and they claim 55,000 Twitter follows- I don't Twit or Tweet but someone you know may be able to use this as a starting point.
Have you lent on The British Legion? I'm not military but I have run across their officials and they have always struck me as being kindly and proactive.
