Hi everyone, thank you all for posting giving hints. I'm about to submit the will confirmation form and would like to check something before I do. On page 11, are boxes 23, 24 and 25 all the same amount as the gross value of the estate if the boxes 12, 13 and 14 have 0.00 for funeral expenses, security or mortgage or other debts and liabilities?
And therefore the net value of the estate equals the gross value, because there are no deductions?

Box 23 value will be the same as box 11 value if there are no additional factors that need to be taken into account specifically for IHT, such as non-exempt gifts or property with a special destination.

Where box 23 is the same as box 11, box 24 should be the same as box 15

In determining the value of Box 25 you need to subtract the value of any exempt estate that passes to a spouse or to charity etc. Where a surviving spouse inherits everything, the NQV will be zero.

Brilliant, thank you so much. Here's another question I would be grateful for some help with.
In the inventory under moveable estate, I have to put the address of the bank. Is that the local branch named at the top of statements, or the bank head branch? And if it is the local branch, what do I do if that branch has recently closed?

If the branch no longer exists, I would use the registered office address - and that location would determine which country to list under.

Good evening all,  Tomorrow I'm taking the plunge and pitching up at the Sheriff Court to hand in my completed C1 form which hopefully will be approved after following all the good advice here.  Anyway, just wondered if anyone would be kind enough to check my Declaration to see if it passes muster?   I have 3 changes of address (mother, sister and myself), plus my father's death to account for but I'm unsure as to whether I should explain my sister's married name while I'm at it.  

2.            That I am

along with Minnie Mouse residing at Disneyland the executors nominate of said deceased conform to the will dated 11 October 1995, and that I and Minnie Mouse are daughters of the said deceased.  In said will Donald Duck is also appointed executor but the said Donald Duck predeceased the said deceased. In said will, the said deceased and Minnie Mouse née ** are designed as residing at Disney World a former address and I am designed as residing at Universal Studios a former address. The Said will is herewith exhibited and docquetted and signed by me as relative hereto.

By the way, I've not lost my marbles, though with the printed form cutting text off in the inventory description boxes and my having to redo the damned list umpteen times it's been a close call!!  Has anyone else had problems with the Inventory Description boxes or is it just me?

My only minor suggestion is to place ‘the said’ before the 2nd and 3rd occurence of Minnie Mouse.

I assume that the three executors are equally named as co-executors in the will.

Thank you for that, buddy9.  Yes, the 3 of us are equally named as co-executors.  Just going to reprint that page, have a cafetiere of very strong coffee then drive to the land of jam, jute and journalism with the final version of this.

Thank you to everyone who's posted on this thread. The help has been priceless. 
I've just had a phone call from the sheriff court to take payment for the confirmation of my mum's will. I've been told they just have to photocopy the extra copies I've asked for and they'll call when everything's ready to collect. 
The paperwork was accepted on the 4th attempt, only last Tuesday. But hey, I presume it's finally correct if they've taken payment.
Is that it, what happens next? it feels such a relief.

If you have been asked by a fund holder to exhibit Confirmation or you need Confirmation to sell a house or transfer its title, then you will be able to do so with your Grant or any certificates that you have requested.
