I've just had a phone call from the sheriff court to take payment for the confirmation of my mum's will. I've been told they just have to photocopy the extra copies I've asked for and they'll call when everything's ready to collect.
The paperwork was accepted on the 4th attempt, only last Tuesday. But hey, I presume it's finally correct if they've taken payment.
Is that it, what happens next? it feels such a relief.0 -

To give something back to this exceptionally helpful thread.
Here is an example of a successful declaration ( by necessity on a paper apart). Just put "See paper apart" in box 2 of page 2 where it starts "I am"
Context is : there was a will and a codicil
All three executors and the deceased had moved address.

Well...the confirmation has been granted and the paperwork arrived today.
However, reading through the certificates, one is for the property, 2 are for bank accounts, but I've suddenly, stomach lurchingly realised, I've not included a refund due from the care home for overpayment! I need this because the refund is over £5000. Please can anyone in the know, calm me down by telling me I don't have to start again?
What the h*ll can I do? I could honestly cry. 😭0 -

The refund form says" confirmation needs to have been granted and we must see an original copy of the documents together with this completed form"
I'm taking it that they need one of the stamped certificates naming then as an asset, would that be right?0 -
So was the care home refund omitted from the inventory?0
-
Embarrassingly, yes. I'm such a dumpling.
Is there any way I can fix this?0 -
If the refund was not shown on the original inventory, and you now need a certificate for it, then submit form C4(S) to the court showing the additional item.

Thanks buddy9. So I submit the C4(S) form back to the court, then when I get the additional certificate for the care home, I send them that to claim the refund? Is there an additional cost for submitting the C4s form do you know?0
