Enjoy the commonwealth Games events. I would imagine the atmosphere will be fantastic :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    I think that's a record gap for me :D

Off on holiday tomorrow and it's probably time for an update.

Work continues to be mad, with extreme levels of activity for a few days followed by large gaps that could probably be utilised to start up a chair hockey league. There have been some management changes and a bit of a focus on my area, so hopefully some promise for future development and a bit of structure. Mostly though, I've just been looking forward to the holidays and have been too tired to complain :o

I've continued with the matched betting, and we've had a real focus on investing. Our ISA is at c. £5.500 for the year, which is pretty great considering we're only 5 months in to the ISA year. Our pensions are also behaving themselves and for the first time ever, Mrs E made an unprompted comment about fund performance. I must be rubbing off on her :rotfl:

I am continuing with being the world's worst MFWer and have not even thought about the mortgage this year. We are starting to give more thought to our long term future and the numbers are encouraging, mortgages are a part of it, but other assets are more important. We have recently started to take a little risk off the table by buying in to some investment grade bonds, only 10% or so, but it has left us very skint!

Looking forward to a fortnight in the sun with Mrs E and about 10 good books

Cheers SF, we need to start saving for a carpet replacement, new oven and possibly a kitchen refurb when we get back. Probably only be able to afford another £150/mth to ISA for the rest of the year.

That's great work on the ISA Ed (and those other things you mentioned which I don't understand). Have a great time relaxing in the sun, it really does you so much good :)
