Thanks apple muncher and siannielaz, it feels like a great milestone

Fmess - he wants to get back together, albeit on a rather casual basis!! We've been apart for 10 years, and he behaved very badly when we were married. I don't bear any grudges as we were both drinking very heavily all through the marriage, and should never have been together in the first place, but that is a place I definitely don't want to go again!!!Debt as at Feb 14: £2272.40DFW Nerd no. 1024June Overhaul #260

NSD no 18 and should still be a few more to come. Stupid leg still bothering me so a slow start - actually I could barely move, took lots of painkillers with a little food and went back to sleep for another 4 hours. Have managed to clear rubbish/ recycling and pots from DS3's room and elsewhere, strip his bed and wash bedding and dirty clothes, a quick tidy and made the bed with fresh bedding.
Ate a bar of chocolate and watched the Hunger Games - really enjoyed it (beautiful cinematography) not at all what I was expecting, did not recognise Lennie Kravitz. Think Red Dwarf have a case for suing them for using The Cat as their fashion inspiration.
Going into the last week of the month and looking to June I have spent some time assessing the month - promise I will stop if this looks like turning into War and Peace.
Food is over budget. I have added the money I spent at arseda on Thursday but the Tessimo spend will go on the June budget. Neither shop was as bad as I thought when I went through the receipts (cc bill received in the post so checking projected/actual targets etc), the T one had savings of around £19.83 and did not count any theoretical bargains eg I bought ys blueberries but would usually only buy them when very reduced and I could have lived without them (want not need) so not deducted- not sure how w ell I have done on healthy eating this month but I have been appreciating my food, eating slowly and thinking about each mouthful and the different flavours. The 2 together were less than the basics shop I intended to have delivered in the coming week.
Travel budget is currently £12.77/£30. I managed to walk to mum's last week. Could have managed this week if DS2 had been where he was supposed to be (or had let me know he wasn't going to be there) - going directly to mum's was less than the walking I did.
So lesson no 1 from this month I don't like my plans being messed up. Still cross about Thursday. Gone through what happened - had used all the sandwiches and bread from the freezer, did not have any fresh fruit, raw veg or 'muesli type' bars left in the house so was forced to buy a sandwich. So can I do better next time - must include a bake day soon for diabetic recipe cake and biscuits now I have spare freezer capacity, include other transportable treats mini quiches, crackers and hm spreads. These will give me more options if I have an early appointment and when I can walk more I can have days out.
The credit card bill actually gave me a much needed lift. I happened to be using a notebook which had some figures from the beginning of March and the difference over 3 months was clear. I have been a little bit down this month - other people seem to be able to take chunks off their debt and my efforts feel so feeble in comparison.
Realistically I have lost approximately 2 months income due to health issues and though some of this may be recoverable, it will be in tiny amounts at a time. I have started the past 2 months with not enough money to cover the standing order payments (without including luxuries like food) and June is a tougher month. However I will be starting with £150 towards the water rates (still need to check that date) and the money for the bank loan which goes out on the 1st.
Similarly although I had run out of some (mainly fresh) foods I still have some hm ready meals in the freezer + a drawer full of raw meat and a cupboard full of tins including many beans (different varieties).
I haven't done as much in the garden, housework or diy as I would have liked but I have done what I was able to do (pushed a bit too near the limits, some days).
So the little bits do make a difference. Even if I can't do everything, I can do something and that will add up, over time. If I find I have to use the cc to buy food (or pay the water rates if the other standing orders cannot be covered) as long as I continue to keep that spending as low as possible, I will win in the end.

Ah I see! Thank you for sharing. Glad you have managed to move on and are in a much happier place without him. Seems like buying you dinner is the least he can doLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Yesterday was a bit spendy for me - I bought a magazineI also went out with friends for lunch and a LOT of drinks but as I came home with more money than I left with (someone paid me back some money they owed me) I'm not counting what I spent. That's maths I like
Today we're off to a wedding, but it should be a low spending day. Have a great Sunday!0 -
Well done Fmess!!
I had a long day yesterday so forgive me for not posting. Had nothing major to mention apart from another SFD taking my total to 13/15!
I have also been called to Chester again next week so that's more fuel I can claim back......but I have to spend it first to fill the car up. This and my other meeting have made me double my fuel budget for this month, both were last minute and both were unexpected. Damn!
Trying to decide what to do with the rest of today, forecast rain later so I'm going to nip out now and go for a walk. Then I think a movie afternoon is in order
I have chicken curry for tea from the freezer, I think I have some naan bread and pakoras bagged up in the freezer too. I often do my curry with salad instead of rice so I'm looking forward to this tonight.
I'm working bank holiday Monday so that's about £157 I get in next months wage, just before I'm off to wales for a week :T
I have decided next month to do another budget/ money saving challenge to pay the rest of my September holiday off, as well as doing a 30 day yoga challenge to try and improve my fitness.
Anyway better get my backside moving, hope you all have an excellent bank holiday weekend!!! XxI have enough money to last me the rest of my life unless I buy something -:j:rotfl::j

morning all
so have been buying sweets again :wall: have wasted so much this month on junk. it is a waste of my 'spends' allowance but hasn't affected any savings targets as don't dip into that money.
quick calculations show that with paying off my credit card card bill, paying the electrician and putting the money away for what i have spent on cc which will be on next months bill, i should have about £60 left this month. pretty pleased with this as i have also paid for my hotel in delhi which was £108 so thats £108 less i need to save for holiday
have been doing some more research on travel health and i only need the cheapo malaria tablets at about £15 instead of malerone which are a lot more. however i am bad at forgetting to take tablets and the cheap ones need to be taken for a month longer than malerone so in two minds to go for malerone anyway  will need to check malerone is ok for the area im going to though. also dont think i need japenese encephalitis which will save another £160 :T
also sold the floorboards yest for £100 :j:beer: thats is it now from the loft of treasures as it is now completely cleared!
looking forward to updating and confirming totals at the end of the month as still some mystery shopping money to come :T
plans for today as gym and then wash down kitchen, paint ceiling and do two coats of white matt on woodwork. then tomorrow i will do two coats of gloss (quick drying) and do one coat on walls to freshen them upgoing to do bathroom next week and total spends on both rooms is only £5 on new paint brushes and door trim (had £5 wickes credit!).

Well done Fmess.
Today should be a SFD but I won't count it until I know for sure.
DS has football this morning and DD is riding then going to a friends and me and DH are doing jobs at home after driving them about.
Yesterday we decluttered 8 large sacks of baby/toddler clothes to the charity shop, a lot of it was ebayable in bundles for collection but in all honesty I just couldn't face sorting it into gender, age, season then photographing and describing it all for the few pounds we may get. We don't really have a car boot in our area anymore so that wasn't an option either.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Good afternoon one and all
I hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday and seeing a bit of sunshine!
I've just parked my bum for a short rest and a cup of tea so I can have a quick catch up with you all. Today started with an early morning yoga class, and now I'm washing/drying bedclothes (in perfect weather!), vacuuming and generally tidying up before my parents arrive tomorrow. I'll hopefully have time to hit a second yoga class later before bed! I was planning a night out in Brighton tonight, but I really need to knuckle down and tighten those purse strings so I'll skip the night out and go to yoga instead!
I have a few things to photograph so I can get them listed on ebay tonight...more money in = more debt paid off!!
Kenyakate, I love the sound of a 30 day yoga challenge...tell me more!!0
