Happy bank holiday everyone
I've been on a long, lovely walk with a gaggle of friends today up on the moors - it was very lovely! Had anticipated paying for parking but it was a free car park, managed not to buy some DVDs at a charity stall we saw at a railway station, but then lost the SFD in the pub at the end of the walk. Ironically my friend bought me a drink...but then the two young lasses I had bought along with me (they are on a student exchange) didn't have any cash, so I gave them my car parking money for a cold glass of lemonade! One good turn and all that. About £2.50 total cost for the day out :T
I've just done my one little thing and it has both delighted and made me mad! As a loyal or4nge customer over the years I got my BB with them too...it was the last of my regular payments to review and try to swap...just swapped it using the :money: hints on the front page at the moment. I think I've just dropped my DD to £2/month instead of £36!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and stayed with them! I also opted to do the line rental upfront - a big initial cost, but there was a £120 amazon voucher which offset that. Frankly the difference in cost to me is a bit revolting I think!
Plus, I have sold a couple of little things on ebay which has given me the incentive to do a bit more listing tonight!0 -
Another SFD for me. I worked last night and have slept for half the day.
Nellis10 love your saying "Buy cheap buy twice" I have never heard that before. Saying buying cheap is a false economy doesn't have the same ring to it. I will use your saying from now on.
Ugghh work tonight.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
A lovely lazy day has been had! And a NSD to boot!
Floors got swept, grass got mown, washing up got washed, exam board work got worked, jumper got knitted and dd got entertained. Pretty successful, no?!
Today I am grateful for sunshine to dry dh's really thick joggers, for dd's cold seeming better - at least the snot flow has subsided, for dippy eggs, for a jama day, for t'interweb.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hello.
Forgot to post yesterday, I am very sorry. We spent the day cleaning the house from top to bottom so it is all clean and polished and organised.
Also didn't spend any money yesterday so it was our first Spend-Free Day of May!!!!!!!!
:j
Today has been a very busy day as well. We had one of OH's friends up to go shopping for Kos so that took a while. We used the holiday fund to pay for a meal out (crazily expensive but it meant everyone was happy).
It was going to be a spend-free day today (holiday pot does not count as it is only for special occassions and holidays) however the wee red light came on in my car so ended up getting petrol. (good old 8p discount from tescimos though).
So that is my sfd gone. Boo hiss.
Not really much else to tell you apart from that we are almost all ready for the trip to Kos. Just got to get the euros and that is it which makes me quite relieved.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Evening All,
spendy day for me today, got to Aldinis at 9.55 and joined the very long queue waiting for the car park to open. There was a huge rush of people running in to grab the cycling gear! Went round as fast as I could, making sure I didn't grab anything I didn't need! Spent £13.77 on groceries for the week, and £4.92 on moisturisers for me. I have been using coconut oil for ages, but at £6 a pot, it's now too expensive - that's more than a free range chicken costs in Aldinis!
I ended up using the car as my glasses were finally ready at Tescimos, which is in the opposite direction. I got them about two months ago, the lens dropped out the day after I got them home and I've been waiting for the repair to be done ever since! I asked them for the details to make a complaint and they presented me with an extra pair of glasses which had been made by mistake - as they were £94 a pair, I said thanks very much and took them. That means I have two pairs of prescription sunglasses so I can leave a pair permanently in my car.
Me and DD spent the rest of the day at the park, she was soooo tired when we got home, she fell asleep in her dinner! Hopefully she sleeps thro, as I've got an early start for work tomorrow and am not feeling great myself. Hopefully, its something and nothing!
Anyhoo, scores on the doors:

Quiet days are good for plotting, planning and pondering. Look on it as active mind work as opposed to active physical work. We need both, although we often focus on what we 'get done' instead of our contemplations.
I've had a quiet indoor day and have thoroughly enjoyed pottering along. I think my mind has switched off from anything of importance and it's rather nice!
Hope you sleep well. You inspire me to keep going when I would opt to sit and take the lazy way out. I think, 'but mothernerd would do...' and then simply have to get a wiggle on! Thank you!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hello Tributes!
I've been playing in Daddies garden today! So therapeutic! Never wanted to invest time, effort or money in a garden that belonged to a landlord so it's great to get home and play in what is technically my inheritance.. Teehee!!
So I'm super impressed with my Dads efforts. A lot of time has gone into creating it so I'm happy that we bought that land. It's a cross between a fruit orchard, rose garden and vegetable garden. It's huge at 1/2 acre so there's plenty to get busy with...
Shyspender thank you for your advise. I'm still worried but it would be weird for O2 to clear my phone of photos etc so I shall bide my time and cry when necessary ...(if)...
I stayed away from the shops today...YIPEE!!
I'm going in tomorrow though instead....OH NO!
I will be strong. I will be strong. I will be strong. Ok seriously I just need tights ..., gonna wear blinkers...
The boss has seen my name on MSE when I tappa tappa tappity tap tap at work. He thinks I'm assuming he's stupid. I don't. I just don't hide my goings-on. As I said I think I will from now on... Hmmmmmmm should I change my name..?...:-)
So Sunday night in our house is "Mumsys home made chips" night. I'm stuffed. It's a good feeling bug it also means movie night hence my check in now as I shall be attempting an early night afterwards.... Yeah right....
Onwards and Upwards Tributes....( for those that care my full name initials is Katniss... Always freaks a few people out... Abundant I'm loving your analogy though!!!..)“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0
