Not a great day today as I found one of my chicks had passed away over night. We have had her just over a year and she was just over 20 weeks old when we got her so was only about 18 months old. Don't know what happened but she looked as though she died peacefully in her sleep. She seemed fine yesterday free ranging with the other 2 all day as usual. Just hoping the other 2 will be OK.

We did go out to the car boot for a wander around spent a total of £6 but only counting £4 as OH paid for the portion of chips he fancied. Told me after I MUST stop him from buying any next time as they were such a small portion for the price and were awful

The other £4 was made up of £2 entry fee (£1 each) and £2 for 5 pairs of brand new cotton rich socks for OH. These were badly needed as most of his have seen better days and I'd just thrown the worst ones away :rotfl:

Nothing else to report except that the weather has been great here and true to form I now resemble a lobster as I didn't realise it was so sunny and didn't put any sun cream on  I really should know better

Checking in to report another SFD so 2/15 so far.
I spent most of the day in the garden planting vegetables - tomorrow I can use the lawnmower (there's a no noise rule here on Sundays) so I need to cut the lawn and do a bit of strumming).

Feeling very anxious at the moment, it's very uncomfortable indeed. I'm not too sure how to deal with it to be honest. First thing today is to get a good night's sleep before the week ahead.

I love the rule about no noise on a Sunday! Although I worry I am the noises neighbour in our street, I'm always calling, whistleing or telling at the dogs.

Also hope you feel less anxious soon, a good nights sleep often helps. Feel free to use us as a sounding board if you want to get things off your chest.

This is a very unusually late check in for me, I'm never awake past 10.30! Decided to mark some coursework after dinner, and it took nearly 4 hours :( however it is now done :)

Spend day here as needed a few items but planning a SFD tomorrow with only a gym visit, dog walking and more school work to do.

    Petrol: £0/80
    Misc spends: £0/£100

Today will be a spendy day but it's going to be a bit of a bargain day too. Someone at work is selling a chest of drawers identical to the one we have for £20. It cost me £85 :) [STRIKE]I don't know if I should count it as a spend as while I have a friend coming to help me with the chest of drawers I'm dropping off my old freezer to another friend who will be paying me £50 for it :D

Would you count that as a spend day??[/STRIKE]

My friend just messaged me to tell me she can take the freezer but can't pay for it as she's skint, so that's a spend day for me  It's not like she's known for a month she needed to pay me for it.

I would call it a mutally beneficial exchange day, with added positive monetary outcomes :D

Sadly the post has now been edited - she's skint and can't give me the money today :( This added to the friend who can't pay me the £40 she owes me for another week (it's been three so far) is making me reconsider being nice to friends. Bah.

    Thanks Fmess
The quiet day thing (and we also have quiet time between 12 and 1.30 each day) is nice, but also a bit annoying if ou didn't manage to get everything done on Saturday. It also makes me worry when the dog barks too much!!
I'm finding it hard to actually focus on anything when there's this underlying worry, but much of the worry is about either general stuff or things I can't control anyway - so it's all a bit of a pointless waste of energy!!

Today at least the sun is shining so I am going to take the dog out for a nice long walk!

mountaingirl, I find that writing down what is causing my anxiety can help as it takes the stuff out of my head. Don't try to order it, categorise it, or explain it - just write! I also find that avoiding sugar and processed foods helps me to cope. I know that it's so easy to reach for packets and snack foods but if I can go for veg and natural foods instead, then ultimately I don't feel so bad.

On another note I've been informed by a boss that he has been reading MSE. I'm not surprised though as I don't hide my use of if at work (might do now though) but apart from suggesting he had read stuff about himself (not so sure about this one Sir?) he was rather complimentary which shocked and surprised me... His words .."I am genuinely impressed by your tenacity and sheer strength of will I am proud of you I knew you were a little bit different"....and later the words "very clever and charasmatic" were added... I'm shocked to say the least....

Well you are very tenacious, clever and charismatic! :D So the compliments are nice but I understand the not-so-great feeling of being observed by real-life aquaintances while on here. It does make it feel less of a free space somehow...
(there's a no noise rule here on Sundays)

Feeling very anxious at the moment, it's very uncomfortable indeed.

Are you in switzerland or somewhere?! Oh no, your budgets are euros... Germany??

Also I agree with apple muncher - I find grabbing a scrap piece of paper and just starting with "I feel..." quite often turns into a few sides of rambling venting! The great thing about scrap paper is I can decide whether to tuck it int my diary or dramatically and symbolically tear it up! :rotfl:

So further to yesterday's update, I had a batch cooking afternoon of which two things were not desperately successful... My ma recommended making Sarah Brown's Cheese and Lentil Loaf with quark as a low-fat option (slimming world has inspired a love of quark). I am after cheap lean protein sources so this sounded great - Ma assured me it worked really well and she preferred it to the original version (with cheddar or similar + cream). Well I think her tastebuds have gone funny . Not tasty at all IMO! And the recipe makes 6 portions... Oh dear. :rotfl:

Other not-so-successful effort was thai spiced salmon fishcakes, but that was more to do with the time spent fishing the bones out of the tinned salmon! Didn't occur to me to check the label!

However I now have boxed up cooked chicken (in balsamic, mustard and herb marinade), roasted veggies, roasted butternut squash soup, rasberry coolis-mush for yoghurt, AGCJ's granola (again, I didn't add enough butter and honey really, but tasty none the less and probably better for me!), pancakes, extra fishcakes and all that cheese and lentil loaf... Should keep me going!

Yes, I'm living in Switzerland but I budget in Euros because I can go over the border (where it is much cheaper) to buy stuff too. Part of the anxiety is just down to living in another country and the fact that this makes everyday stuff more difficult when you're doing it in another language and with different social rules.

I'll sit down later when I've finished that garden and write down all the stuff that's worrying me, get it out in the open so to speak. I did try to explain to my DH but he doesn't really get it as he just doesn't worry at all and never has. I think he must find me a bit batty to be honest!
