GOOD MORNING EVERYONE
I know I am shouting but with the sun shining through my windows (which reminds me to wash the windows) I am feel great this morning.
Going to have to go into town today DH needs some new jeans etc - I will be repeating to myself (whist in the clothes shop) I do not need, I do not need, I do not need.
I will have to go to Asd* today need food for the cats(before they start and chew my leg off) and a bit of store cupboard staples/fresh items..... will take a list and use it ...
the rest of the day going to start on my bedroom - its a disgrace I am ashamed to say - need to have a sort out and to put some clothes away.
Tonight going out to see a up and coming band named Albany Down ( its the only vice I have - listening to live music) so much of my spends does go on this .... not so much of the big named bands, but local and up and coming .....
Well folks off to make my list - and hoping what ever you are doing today, have fun and be good...xxxx

targets for May:
groceries £53/£200
kitties £8.70/£50 (getting their own budget this month!)
entertainment £0/£100 (extravagant I know)
sfds 2/15
savings £13.28/£500
I'm claiming today as a SFD. We're buying a steam cleaner this morning but using money already saved up in our house fund as it's on sale at last.0 -
Note to my fellow Tributes - It always helps to actually click "Post Quick Reply" before closing the window down.
Wrote up my things for this month last night and then got distracted, thought I had, but on checking this morning I obviously hadn't.
So here it is,
Budget:
Groceries £120
Fuel £120
General Spends £60
Entertainment £80
Birthdays/Events £50
Hoping not to spend anywhere near my grocery budget. The move is pending (fingers crossed) so am going to eat my cupboards bare.
Fuel is to cover the month and possibly a trip to Devon, not sure if that trip if it happens will be in the car or by train but the amount is in the budget either way.
No debt to pay off this month, all money is being held for the move and expenses.
I fret now after five or so months of this challenge if I don't record a spend, if I can't record there and then I try and plan when I can record it and keep the number rattling round my head.
On the topic of little things, over the last two months I have made some changes to make up some extra funds.
I moved my stuff in storage into a smaller room, that has saved me £80 a month, hopefully I will only have to pay another month maximum on this.
I cancelled my cleaners. I had them for two hours every two weeks to keep on top of my flat tidying to help with viewings. No need for them anymore so that saves me £48 a month, does mean I have to do all the cleaning though instead,
I've also decided to stop using an adhoc ironing service. I wear shirt shirts for work and I really don't like ironing. They would do all of them for me for a fairly reasonable price, collect and return too. So that has saved me £20 a month.
There isn't really a lot more I can cut back on right now. There are one or two things I am thinking about trying to sell, just not sure by what service yet.
Yesterday was my first SFD of the month. Today won't be because I forgot to top up my milk on Thursday. Going to buy two lots today and bung one in the freezer. That will last me then until I need to do a fresh shop. Got to go to the jeweller's today and pick up my ring. I'm really excited, I've really missed not having it with me for the last week.Feb NST #4

Managed my 5 a day yesterday, when I think about it and plan what to eat I can do it. I am hoping to increase this to 7-8 portions over the next few weeks but need to get to 5 consistently first:o
More spends out of the holiday budget mostly for DS; a coat, sandles and trunks as well as a couple of small bits for me.
I bought the £15 blender that was on the grab it board yesterday as mine is on its last legs and I want to start drinking smoothies for the calcium and fruit. Not sure where in my budget this goes.
My food budget includes booze and the recipe mag and book I bought which are skewing it a bit. I think I will show booze separately next month.
DH and I are off to the big shopping centre today to get DS birthday present. It is quite expensive so we have agreed that half the cost of it will be covered from his Christmas gift budget and I have a savings pot for this. He gets so much at Christmas being an only grandchild/nephew etc that he doesn't need much more from us really.
Meter readings submitted yesterday, hoping my DD will come down again and need to look at a new supplier too.
Right, off to walk the dog and see if DS and I can find a route to increase the length of the walk we have been doing this week. They are the digging the road up around our estate so our usual route has been cut short.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Morning all
Today won't be a SFD as I'm buying a newspaper to get a "free" book from an author I love
I'm hoping to get some exercise in, but we're off to a friend's later for a birthday thing, so any good I do will be undone with all the eating and making merry! I did a grocery shop last night, getting most things I needed, but I'm off to Aldi to pick up the rest. I'm aiming to get out of there having spent under £15 (including three bags of cat litter) so I'll pop in later and report how that went!0 -

DS going to his Dad for weekend, I get him back Monday, and will take him to Ulster Folk & Transport Museum...have a "Child Goes Free" voucher that I will use!
Also going to check out NIKIDs website for any money saving days out for the Summer.
The Giro D'Italia is coming here next week and I'd love to go see it but DS will be at his Dad's and isn't really interested in it, so not going to waste the petrol going to see it myself2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Spendy day for me I'm off out for bluebell walks and national trust visits. Taking picnic and drinks with me at least!
Will update totals tomorrow when I know the damage!
Happy days!0 -
Morning all.
I'm not sure whether I will be spending money or not today so won't declare until later on.
On sunday my oven packed up and I ordered a new heating element for it from an Amazon seller, on Wednesday I got an email to say it had been despatched which I think was quite a while already but the worst is I still haven't got it, it's been sent by Royal Mail and on Thursday and Friday our whole area got no post, I have asked around and no-one got any, the van is usually parked up on the road and it wasn't there at all. This happens quite a bit they just seem to hold onto it and miss delivery days, does anyone else find this?
Am going to peg out two loads of washing (yay to not using the drier) and clean the stair carpet this morning.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

morning!
checking in for yesterday! oops - its becoming a trend!
did the internet food shops last night so it was a spendy day - not expecting to do any more spends now for a while though - fingers crossed!!
Did my first @sda shop - to get all the things we had run out of and finally bought a dustpan and brush too! Little kitty's litter on the bathroom floor was starting to annoy me and its too much effort to get a hoover out every time (and wastes electricity)!!
did do an ocaaaado as well to get the meat - got 2 small chicks so I'm going to joint one and keep the other for a roast, other than that we have enough meat/fish in the freezer to last us the month i reckon!!
Might do some vege lasagnes later on for the freezer as we have some meat ones left but this would be a cheaper way of doing it!
If I used quorn mince from the freezer does anyone know if i could cook then refreeze as a quorn lasagne?
got to do some tidying and clothes washing and take advantage of a tidy flat for more than 5 minutes as the OH is away for the weekend!!! Yay!!!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine? Although there's quite a nip in the air still!!
xx

Hi c-r, have a great day, enjoy your peace and quiet! I don't know what the official line is, but I do use frozen quorn mince regularly and refreeze the cooked item (lasasgne/sauces/mince etc). Always seemed to work out fine!:rotfl:
Sluggish start to today. guests up and out early. lots of fun things planned with my parents this afternoon/eve, but I've been very lazy so far. Now in a rush to catch up and do a few tasks. Very excited by free sample of tea bags that dropped through the door just now.0
