NSK: MAY the Odds Be Ever In Your Favour!!!

Earlier I decided to walk down to Superdrug at lunchtime to get shampoo because Mysupermarket showed they had my brand for £1.50 (Normally £3.79). When I got there it was full price  so I decided to take my own advice and downshift brands and now have a big bottle of their own-brand shampoo for a whopping 99p.
It smells yummy too
Still a SFD as I don't count anything from the household/food budget as a spend.0 -
Not a great one to follow up calling's promise to be good but yesterday was a little bit of a disaster.
Ended up spending £117 instead of £60. I did try my hardest but it all went pear shaped in tk m4xx.
I used to have a memory box (I still do have it) however, it was stewby-sized and it has now ran out of room so I found this beautiful old style suitcase with a antique map sort of pattern on it in tk m4xx. It is quite big and was £24.99 so I ended up buying it as our new memory box.
:embarasse
I know it wasn't a necessity but it will help declutter the house a bit. The other thing I bought in tk m4xx was a handbag for my niece's birthday. She is horrendously fussy and likes designer things (will be 15 this year) and I found a converse handbag (she owns converse trainer boot things) so bought that for £20.
At least I can explain that spend a bit more rationally.
And last but not least, I bought a dog toy for my parent's dog to keep her entertained... which is has.
On the plus side... my budget of £270 has remained intact (just) so I will batten down the hatches for the stormy month of May. Sorry to have let the side down so quick.
Hugs to all the other better-behaved tributes.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Oh Calling, I feel for you - sorry you've yet more bad news to be dealing with. Don't feel bad about the break - I believe it was the great NSK herself who had it in March's rules (?) to plan/book a holiday.
Anyhow, sending you lots of hugs.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

It really is essential to have some time to get away from the everyday routine whether it's at home, camping or full blown luxury in the Maldives
So enjoy!
Would love it if fellow tributes could advise what they do/don't include in their spending. Am I right in thinking some people if they have budgeted for it don't count it as spending? I class every day I spend money by card, cash or DD as a spend day currently.... food for thought for me!
Budgets - Food £4.23/£80, Petrol £45.73/£250 (including weekend away and commuting), Entertainment/misc spends 0/£150, Birthdays £80. Other stuff: 2/31 log in daily, 1/15 SFD, 1/12 exercise, 1/19 LTW, 0/2 assignments, 0/50 decluttering, 0/3 house jobs, 2/25 eat clean.
Its free listing weekend on ebay, so must get on with finding some more items to declutter to lovely new homes
Does anyone have a recommendation for book selling sites, particularly for academic texts?0 -

I use the Garnier Fructus mousse for curly hair and it is lovely, they may do shampoo etc in the range too. I've had straight hair all my life then last year I started growing it and couldn't keep it straight unless I used my GHD's but that is too damaging for everyday. One night I washed my hair and wrapped it in a towel for an hour when I took the towel off I had a full head of curls so since then (January) I have let it go curly so I am quite new to the whole thing.
Thanks lotti - I wasn't sure whether beans would be heavy enough but maybe they will be to start with.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

oldestgnome, I don't include DDs in my spend days; nor activities my dd does that are pay weekly or monthly - I have them budgetted for. kat has said that medical needs - prescriptions - and yellow stickers don't count, so long as that is all you get. Fuel tends to be personal preference.
I hope this helps.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hi Tributes
Claiming one NSD for yesterday. Had a budgeted-for a social event. Bought a few drinks and a raffle ticket and won a food hamper which has fed me all day!
The real test starts tomorrow when I work a shift away from home (second job). It means a 6 hour round trip on the train and an overnight stay in a guest house. This is dangerous territory for me and where I will often spend a lot of money on junk food and alcohol. I need to be strong and pack food and drink. Will feel justified in buying a small amount of alcohol if the shift is stressful!
Stay focused everyone. XTotal owed @ LBM Jan 2013= £28,700Now................ Feb 2016= £ 6880:jAll on 0% interest:T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:83% paid!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
