Evening all...
Claiming SFD number 2 today - left the wallet in the car when I went to work and that seems to be a good strategy!!!
Got my new ISA/Emergeny Fund paying in book through which is very exciting haha and I have registered online so I can drip feed loose change from my current account when I've been paid.
AppleMuncher - that chicken satay sounds amazing. It's on my list of things to do now - I have all the ingredients in... except the chicken lol. Next week when I shop I'll get some!
I'm looking forward to the weekend - time to work out, relax, watch a few good movies and enjoy life. I too liked the post about being appreciative of the small things in life! The birdsong... when it's sunny... having food and warmth and water... i consider myself blessed to have all of these.
Have a great evening folks!!!

A spendy day as I bought stuff that's super heavy, so I made best use of having the car. And only bought stuff that's the same price as aldee.
A question: can you freeze condensed milk? I bought a kilo (yep, a whole 1000 grams of it!) tin today, as I plan to make mint white choc fudge for at least 4 of the upcoming 6 birthdays. Now, although it was a bargain, I'm now panicking that NSK will come knocking on my door for being suckered by a 'must-have' deal. I'll be hiding behind the sofa under a blanket...! Therefore, I need to find ways to use it, so please add suggestions!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hi!
Yesterday: spendy day as out being social
NSD and exercise day today. Daft thing was that the 5 minutes rowing designed as a cool down didn't quite work that way as the machine was set on maximum, rather than the 6 or 7 it usually is. However, it took me 3 minutes to realise the setting was wrong so I'm doing something right:rotfl:
Tomorrow, need to go shopping for Mum and visit the homestead then buy presents for the birthday meal next Friday. Yay! social life‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Good evening fellow Tributes,
Today was another SFD so 2/15 :T
Had a really productive day in the house as OH had some work on so I was able to work through my list of jobs in my usual disorganised manner. Don't know why but this always seems to work better for me
Tomorrow will be a spend day unless I can find an adapter to fit the 2 pin plug on my new yoghurt maker. I'm sure I have one somewhere but at the moment that could be anywhere from the shed to the loft or one of the junk rooms sorry I mean the spare bedrooms :rotfl:
I really want to start making my own yoghurt as I eat this every morning with bran flakes and it should save me a fortune :money:
That's all from me for tonight as I think I'm going to go and have a nice long bath and an early night :j
See you all tomorrow.

Dolly - Carpet seems ok so far fingers crossed. Hope things are OK with your DD - Lotti is right, although that couple seemed lovely, I'm sure they have their difficult days like everyone.
Applemuncher - that satay sounds yummy, peanut butter is one of the things I have in the cupboard so will give it a go. No ideas on condensed milk though sorry!
Calling - so sorry to hear things are not so good, hope the holiday gives you something to enjoy.
And for me - reasons to be grateful:
1. My friend has had a little girl, mum and baby doing fine
2. The lovely receptionist at the GP's where I was working this afternoon made me a cup of tea with milk, hooray!
3. Popped in the library and they had a new book by an author I love - great for the long weekend.

Good evening.
Might I recommend schoolyard truffles?? Very simple and yet delicious. Basically crushed digestives (even the cheapest brand tastes okay in it), condensed milk and drinking chocolate powder. You can use cocoa but I prefer the sweetness in the drinking chocolate.
Basically roll them in a ball, cover them in either coconut or drinking chocolate powder or chocolate strands or anything really.
They are great as treats and make pretty nice gifts too. Mine never really last long enough to get wrapped.
Anyways... not a spend-free day today as we went post-holiday shopping. (OH didn't want to spend his money so just lived out of the freezer until I came home).
Went to Morries (£29.64) and Tescimos (£20.27). A bit disappointed as I had hoped to stick to a budget of £30 a week however OH wanted lots of vegetables and some tuna for salad (£6 for 4 small tins of tuna)
However, we did buy £4.00 worth of food bank stuff although I am a bit disappointed as I bought the wrong stuff.
The one up north (where I was yesterday and Wednesday) said they were short of tinned meat and tomatoes so today we bought 4 tins of hotdogs (I assume thats what they mean by tinned meat) and 4 tins of tomatoes.
However, the one where we live are short of smash and sauces.
Holiday pot and Xmas pot are both sorted for the month... and we have £80 left for the month. (I know it is technically £67.09 but I used my card instead of cash so don't have any change).
I was really quite bad today with my OH and mentioned rather bluntly that we only had £80 to use unless he contributed. Then did a little smile... it took a minute to sink in and then he carried on as normal. I have tried to be subtle but it doesn't seem to work.
:undecided
Hope all the other tributes are doing well.

Checking in for day 2. I went and did a big shop in the supermarket and also went to the farms shop so a big food spend of 177.52. The farm shop is great - everything is completely local (within 10 miles or so), seasonal and operates on an honesty box system. It also has massive free range eggs available.
I also bought all of our transport tickets for the next 6 weeks, so over budget, but I I realised that I had to get some tickets for longer distances which are more expensive.
In summary:
