evening all
so today was not a sfdspent about £16 in timpsons on reheeling shoes and boots. shoes got metal tips so shouldnt need done ever again! then spent £4.60 on gardening gloves, toothpaste and kettle descaler in wilkos and £70 on my new cooker hood. the £70 is part of the £550 electrical work (needed to buy that then pay £480 to electrician).
unfortunately im not going to get a sfd until mon as got friend staying for the weekend. this is my expensive weekend of the month!
have eaten well today and only just home from gym. going to bed in a min! really need to update fmess weight loss thread but think its time for zzzzzzzzzzzz:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
well done for all the gyming and swimming thats been going on here. I'll be over to catch up with you on Fmess thread - my week has gone awry in that respect. Not bad diet but not good exercise!
So my attempt to pre-allocate SFD. 15 was hard to get to as there are things dotted all through this month. But here goes:
Fri 2nd / Sun 4 /
Wed 7 / Thur 8 / Sun 11 /
Mon 12 / Tues 13 / Fri 16 / Sat 17 /
Mon 19 / Tues 20 / Wed 21
plus 3 during our holiday. As we are SC in the middle of nowhere some SFD are usually pretty achievable, but hard to predict now which days they will be.
All written in my blue book alongside the diary for the month...watch this space!0 -
Good evening everyone!
Just squeezing in with my first check in of the month and I've had a good start with NSD 1 completed :j.
I'm still working the YNAB and getting all the figures put in (it's a bit complicated getting used to a new programme for a technophobe like me!).
I have though got some figure for her, just the basic ones that I can deal with straight away. I'm going to be looking at cutting back some of our overheads over the next week or so.
my goals are going to be:
Finance (in euros).
15 NSDs
500 euro for food and household
60 petrol
40 tram tickets for me and kids
150 kids clothes ( this is from my annual clothes budget)
100 meals out as I have two weekends away in May and need to buy food out).
100 pension (just started paying this again)
Income:
Make at least 200 by selling off some unneeded clutter.
30 - child's swimming pool card for my daughter's lessons (11 admissions for the price of 10)
Health.
Stick to meal planning to get the healthiest meals for my budget
Keep up running
start back at the gym (yes, I know it's a waste of money but I am tied in)
Go to bed earlier (which is where i should be now).
Aiming for 4 lbs lighter by the end of the month.
I think that's about it for now. tomorrow won't be a NSD as I need to get some tram tickets but otherwise it should be low spend.Seriously money saving0 -

Good luck all0 -
Evening everyone, sounds like you all got off to a decent start! I managed to clock up my first SFD
I'm super dedicated this month after last month's epic fail! My targets will be....
SFD: 15
Food: £150 ( a lot, but I've been spending that amount anyway over the last few months, so at least this way it's budgeted for)
Misc: £100 (This is my usual amount, some months I spend next to nothing, some months I spend it all and struggle. This month, I'll be spending next to nothing!!!!)
Exercise: 20 full on yoga classes is the target for this month!
...and of course, a daily update
How annoying Kat that you forgot your charger. You're so restrained - I'd be straight out to buy a replacement! Not many things I can't live without, but a laptop I'd struggle with. Well done you :T:T:T0 -
Checking in, hoping to bag no spend days over the weekend but needed milk and bread yesterday. Not had much chance to do anything other than revise, which might be boring but is frugalProud to be debt free September 2014. :j

I'm really need to buy a freezer this month, hence my reason for being back on here budgeting MSE style. The cost is £270 for what I need (I only have a cool box in my crappy little fridge for now).
That is the only major spend this month and if I have done my budget correctly, I will be able to afford it.2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Good first day yesterday with a SFD and an exercise day despite the weather! My ISA savings are looking good too because it's payday so I added the leftover from my bank account along with my Hfx Reward payment to the account and yesterday I paid a £5 note I had left to it too.
Tomorrow will be food shopping day and that's when I'm going to see if I can really manage this budget. We need quite a few things and I only have the £37.50 budget in my food account so it's going to need some creative shopping!0 -
