Some really good food ideas here today, thank you everyone :)

    I have eaten:

    B. smoothie -watermelon, spinach, lime, kiwi 1/2 an avocado and parsley

    L. I had some salad left over from dinner last night. It was full of good things and too nice to waste. I put it in a couple of small multi-grain rolls. One had a slice of edam cheese & the other had cashew nut butter. An apple.

    Snack: *ahem* some ice cream

Dinner: I marinaded salmon fillets in lime, ginger, mustard & garlic and served them on rocket with cubed butternut squash & sweet potato.

It felt like a bad eating day because of the ice cream & two rolls, but doesn't look so bad written down. Need to meal plan the rest of the salad/ veggies as don't want to do a big shop before payday next Wednesday.

Is anyone counting kcal here? If so, how much do you normally consume and how active are you? It's a second day when I had less than 2000kcal and I am feeling pretty hungry in the evening...

    Hi All,

I've been an avid reader of this thread for a few weeks now but never joined in with the chat myself. I would like to become fitter & trimmer!

I actually am fairly fit & young and go to various bootcamp, circuit classes & yoga classes on a weekly basis....however I would like to be more lean & slim. I bought a fitbit a few weeks ago but was shocked & disappointed at how little I can walk on a regular day...even after a circuit class, doggy walk and walk to and from train station I'm lucky to hit 10k steps (desk job!)

I realise I need to ramp it up and become more aware of my eating (and drinking habits)...so...I'm keeping track of food on MFP, consciously trying to up my steps throughout the day, started the 30DS (again.....hoping to actually complete it this time as I often lose interest after two weeks!) & squat challenge.

I'd like to use this thread to keep myself on track...ultimately I'd like to lose 10lbs....should be relatively easy & achievable I just never seem to ever get there!

Will check in again soon.....I'm very motivated by the posts on here and how well you all have done!

    Morning all

I did try using MFP for a few weeks I kept forgetting to fill it in as I still own a rarely used nokia brick, cals came out at around 1500/1700 a day never managed to keep the sugar on track due to the amount of fruit in my diet.
Need to up the veggies Blue :D you get a lot of broccoli for a 100 cals and very little cake sadly I found :D, crowd out your diet with veg and lean protein and you shouldn't feel hungry if you do could it be thirst or boredom.

HI Penny great to have you along it's a right pain that it's 80% diet and 20% exercise be so much easier if it was the other way round :rotfl:

    Food today.

    Bfast Banana and tea
    Lunch Salad box and fruit
Tea Pizza night :D veggies loaded on a cauliflower crust with mozzarella , sweet potato wedges and salad.

Treat skinny latte at a local coffee shop with a mate

Exercise circuit's and swimming have a great day everyone.

    Morning all,

Scales say 1.5 lbs lost in 5 days :) just need to keep it up!

I am having a treat day as a friend wants to meet for lunch (I haven't seen her for 3 weeks and won't see her again for 2 weeks) and OH wants a takeaway. Going to have just meat and veg from the takeaway but the cafe we go to for lunch does gluten free food so I'll eat my carbs there!

Was hoping to do a run but not sure I have time when it's cool enough, may go for a swim at the gym instead as I can do that in the heat of the day!

    Have a good day

    Welcome Pennyk

I went for a run last night and it was still 26 degrees, I had waited until 7.30pm, anyway I did it and it was fine apart from the blinding sun.

Today is my rest day and my weigh in, I have lost 5lb this week, some of that must be from last week when the scales showed no loss. That takes me 3lb over my target for the last weigh in of July :j.

tori - Today is pizza night for us too but no cauliflower here (I hate the stuff) I make my own base and it is definitely dough.

    Morning All,

I got up early for the 2nd day in a row to do the 30DS - feel good once I've done it as oddly have more time in the morning rather than lying in bed until the last second then running around trying to get organised and out the door for work on time!

Also got off the train one stop early and took the stairs in work (5 floors)....unfortunately I agree about the 80%/20% rule tori.k....problem is I eat out a lot...think I need to change my ways or at least be sensible with my choices!

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning everyone.

    Welcome Pennyk :)

Fmess & dolly84well done on the loss :T

Well done to everyone who has been exercising in the heat.

I went out at 6am and had a pleasant 6 mile cycle in the fog. The sun was pushing through though by the time I got back. Done loads of housework and a wee bit of 'fabbing' Got a friend arriving for lunch anytime now. Made some deliciously Ellla recipes including the amazing super healthy chocolate mousse. Got some crisps and cakes in case she is not impressed by this dramatic change. Just have to get any unhealthy leftover down OH before I eat them :rotfl:

It's a sixth day with no sweets, woohoo! Also, I am experimenting with IF at the moment, yesterday and today had my breakfast at 7am and lunch at 1pm and nothing afterwards. Have a bit of experience in fasting, so I know it's all for good :)

    Wow dolly that is fantastic!

Today has been a complete treat day - chocolate, ice creams, Brie, meringue and cream, takeaway!

However I did go for a swim and have walked about 18000 steps :)

Back on the healthy eating tomorrow but no exercise due to a busy day. Exercise resumes again on Sunday.
