    Evening all

I've done tonnes of steps today, I guess maybe 15000+ but I can't remember where I put my pedometer when I got changed after work!

Food was yummy but not good.

I also don't understand the eating back the calories you burn principle? Can someone enlighten me?

Re: eating back calories - assuming you're already eating at a reasonable calorie deficit to lose weight healthily, then burning even more calories on top of that and not eating them back will cause your body to actually try and store fat as much as possible because you're not eating enough. Sometimes called "starvation mode." And it will burn muscle ahead of fat, which is not what's wanted at all.

Hmm, so I just need to get past the 'assuming you're already eating at a reasonable calorie deficit to lose weight healthily' bit BEFORE stuffing my face, then?!

I very much recommend https://www.bodyrock.tv for those of you wanting to exercise.
I had very good results following the workouts there whilst mostly clean eating :)

I ran yesterday morning in the heat and cycled 8 miles last night which included one very long hill and one short but very steep hill. I got weighed this morning as usual for Friday and I have lost, wait for it, nothing. I am very annoyed, no make that very fed up.

Today is my rest day. For the next six weeks I will be doing less exercise due to having the kids at home full time, so this is going to interfere with my target of losing 6 stones within a calendar year.

Hope everyone else has a better day than me, I will away now to wallow in my own self pity.

Don't be glum dolly, you are doing fantastically well. 6 stone in a year is a huge target.

Could you change your exercise to include more in the house exercise? What about setting up a mini Olympics for you and the kids to complete? You could do it once a week and give rewards for improving their times etc? You could have events like a running race, number of skips with a skipping rope in 5 minutes, number of star jumps in a minute, how long it takes to move a certain number of objects from one side of the garden to the next etc?

Sorry if this is a silly suggestion.

I've decided I want to be 9st 0lbs by 1st September (end of the summer hols). Im going to have tomorrow as a rest day, as I'm knackered from school, then I'm going to weigh myself on Sunday, as I know I've gained lots of weight in the last month.

Exercise is going to start on Monday, unless weekend plans change.

Fmess - yay to the hols! May they be full of healthy eating, exercise, and inch loss!

I'm off on holiday with dd tomorrow where we won't have internet for a week. Dh is wondering how we'll cope! Me, I'm looking forward to a tech-free (ish) week! I shall weigh myself before we go, and then when we return.... I've had a rubbish 18 days of eating - July has really gone to pot so far, and Will Power has wandered off. Must go and find him again!

See you near the end of the month! Hope we all look less (. ) and more ()!

Fmess - no that's not a silly suggestion it sounds fun, I'm sure I can incorporate some extra bits of activity. We like to play a very energetic game in the garden with our dog which involves him running around at top speed with his toy and us trying to form barriers and catch him, that dog is slick and always wins hand down.

applemuncher - have a lovely holiday. I always go tech free on my hols.

The last few weeks of term are rubbish for eating. Always leaving or retirement meals, cream cakes in the staff room and generally goodies everywhere. Have a good holiday :)
