Today's menu:
-Crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast (no milk) black coffee
-Tomato and veg pasta, yoghurt
-Turkey curry, rice (maybe naan if I'm really hungry) fruit juice
-Drinking water today as I've no cordial left
- Hoping to drag Hubby out for a walk tonight if the weather holds.
trailing spouse - I live between Burnley and Blackburn. When it's raining, I slob as I hate wet weather
ETA: it's tipping down here now, won't be going out for that walk tonight after all0 -
Well yesterday wasn't *to* bad (for me)
Breakfast; beans on toast with 2 fried eggs
Lunch: Two slices of toast .. or snack should we say? I had a big breakfast on purpose to skip lunch >.<
Dinner: Fish chips and beans (didn't realise I had beans twice whoops)
+ I did get an hours walk :-)
This morning I've had 4 slices of toast(2for lunch)...and a few sweets and chocolates..I was making sweet treesHavn't gone mad with them at least but now my having no crisps and chocolate in the house has gone to pop as we've got a left over bowl of sweets and a bag of chocolate in the cupboard...sigh!!!
I know it's not great but I don't really know *how* to eat healthy other then cutting down what I eat ~ I do jacket potatoe sometimes for lunch but I find veg / fruit such a pain as we go shopping once a week and they don't last till end of the week so I end up having to eat them in the first 2-3 days....then back to wondering what to have for lunch / snacks etc.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
giblet - a great way to prevent lemons/lime from going mouldy are to slice and freeze them - they both cool your drink if its cold, or make it more drinkable if its hot water - ready for a refreshing G&T too
Tygermoth -I don't have scales either, I'm using measurements and clothes challenges.
Kayalana - I shop once week too, most harder fruits and veg will last for a week, I snack on carrots, cucumber, cherry tomatoes as well as apples/satsumas all of which last a week from one shop to the next. I also eat some dried fruit/nuts in moderation too.
Trailingspouse - when the weather is bad I do kettlebells/weights/body weight exercises inside - this can include you tube videos to help and also do steps up on my bottom step.
Today I am trying to be better - going to go and paint my fence in a minute trying to catch up on the outside whilst its nice. Will then do an exercise session of some sort.
Foodwise - pineapple & natural yoghurt, smoked mackerel salad and beef stirfry for me today.0 -

Do you have a decent size freezer Kayalan? im really time poor and both DH & I are veggies I prep most of my veggies when I buy them and freeze so I can grab and go, often I find out of season frozen is cheaper anyway, soup features heavily in our diet I make up big pans and freeze in portion sizes, soup & sandwich is my standby tea if I can't be bothered to cook.
Seems so many ideas on what's healthy eating and not nowadays less carbs more fat, low fat, more meat less meat...it's endless  no wonder we are all confused one week to the next I've used slimming world as stage 1 to get DH mindset that it's a change of eating rather than a diet that at some stage his can stop, stage 2 is to slowly move him over to clean eating so dropping the artificial sweeteners and E numbers I can't imagine life without cake so my idea of healthy is dropping the processed food out of our diets and following the mantra a little of what you fancy does you good :rotfl:.0 -
The scales were my friend this morning! Let's hope they are still nice tomorrow morning! Weighing daily gives me the chance to see how my eating affects it. If I have a food cooked in water - eg gnocchi - then I'll weigh more as the carb content means my body holds on to water. I find it useful to track - am a bit anal like that!
bfast - cott ch medley
lumch - pea, spinach, rocket soup, carrots and hummous, grapes
tea - smoked salmon and scrambled egg, cottage ch 'pud'
snacks - 2oz almond/brazil, apple, dried mango, dates (hmmm - dried fruit affects my weight just like gnocchi... Not such a good idea!) and 2 hb eggs woth mayo - yum!
I'm trying to reach 10 veg and fruit daily. The above makes 9, so a good effort! :TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Could you do a batch cook using some of your veggies like chilli and spag bol and then freeze in portions. You can also slice and freeze your veg before it goes funny and then just get a handful out as you need it.
Went for my run, did a different route for a change, did 500 skips when I got back then an hours dog walking. I was very tired but am fine now.
Food today
Breakfast - oat so simple porridge with 1/2 soya milk 1/2 water, crumpet with flora & coffee.
Lunch - 2 slices of white bread, flora, salad, turkey and a drizzle of mayo, fruit and yoghurt.
Tea - homemade chilli, salsa, salad, 2 x wraps and a bit of cheese.
Strawberries and ice cream.
Snacks - 2 malted milk biscuits, satsuma and squash.
I won't have anything else to eat now till breakfast.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Wow, you are all doing so well
Kayalana I shop once a week and generally just have the softer fruit and veg and salad at the start of the week, and then frozen peas, carrots etc towards the end of the week.
Today has not been a great food day, as I got a bit excited at some good news and ate a huge bar of chocolate (oh and had double lunch!)
breakfast - 2 slices of eggy bread
snack - light crisps
lunch - cheese spread sandwich (and then curry and rice)
dinner - curry and veg (no rice)
snack - huge bar of chocolate
I am definitely going to weigh myself tomorrow and see the damage! I have only managed a walk of 1 mile today due to tutoring this evening. Not setting a very good example today
I am looking forward to the long weekend and being able to up my exercise, and then a week on Friday, school becomes a lot quieter and I should have more evening time to get some exercise doneLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Morning all
Weeks are going so fast, Thursday is a rest day for me well I say rest but it's catch up day for the housework after work, downside of warmer weather is I can no longer get away with not ironing the t-shirts now jumpers are being discarded.
Food
Bfast fruit mixed with Greek yogurt
Lunch veg soup
Tea sandwich thin pizza (onion &goats cheese) & salad
snacks banana and highlight.
DH has the same as me but usually extra bread, his SW bars and a packet of crisp's on top. I've been really good this week as I have 5lbs to target so can stop paying for SW thats good enough motivation for me this week, it's so sad that im too lazy just to do it myself that I have to pay to keep me on the straight and narrow.0 -
Good morning! :j
I weighed myself today: when Fmess started the thread I was 146 lbs, moving down from 148. Today I am 144.5. :T.
I know I've not been doing this 100%, but even what I am doing is bringing results, so I'm chuffed!
Dh does dd this morning, so I've snuck in a 10 min workout already. Must go get fresh and dressed and go to work.
Have a great day :jNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Morning.
Well done applemuncher.
I will be running again today at some point then a lovely rest day tomorrow apart from dog walking.
Food today will be
Breakfast - Jordans Granola, soya milk, crumpet, flora & coffee
Lunch - currant teacake, fruit and yoghurt
Tea - quiche (small slice), oven chips and baked beans, cup of tea.
snacks will be fruit.
My oven packed up on Sunday night, I have ordered a new part and am hoping it will come today as it is becoming a struggle to cook using what I already have in, I do have a mini electric oven which I use when caravanning so I can do bits in that but tomorrow is pizza night, I make my own and they are too big to fit in the mini oven.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
